Its a cheap way to get into 1/8th scale. It is real heavy, but it is durable. This was my first 1/8 th a few years back.
IMHO there are better choice out there, what is your price range and do you want a kit or RTR ? Are you going to race or just BAsh?

Well someone offered to trade it for my MT2, seemed like a good deal but I wanted to check with you guys first.
09-22-2005, 01:41 PM
Not sure what your mt2 is worth, but a brand new mbx pro can be had for around 300.00.
DOnt the pro in the name fool, you there is nothing pro on it.

Well a brand new MT 2 is about $300 but I can't even run the thing around the front yard without something breaking (or maybe I just bash too hard?).
09-22-2005, 01:57 PM
well the mbx shouldnt break, but you won t be able to runit in the front yard. Buggies are to low, grass just bogs them down. They need to be run on a track, street, or hard flat dirt

I don't know, I used to put on a pretty good show with the Mayhem.
09-22-2005, 02:07 PM
The mayhem is a big step above the mbx. I gaurantee unless your grass is as short as astroturf your are over working your engine and drive train by runnign in grass..

I like the Ofna MBX Ultra Comp, I have one with a Force 26 and it goes pretty good. I know alot of people say the are garbage bit so far othe than a few items (1 hinge pin and a spur and CB) it has been a good buggy. I paid 329.00 RTR at LH in the spring and I have upgraded the steering servo to a 645mg abd put a high torque servo for throttle(it's all I had when the stock went out). I also am using a hot bodies radio and reciver.(thanx to Eracer) If you have loads to spend then go with somthing different, but for the money IMO I like it. Alot of the PCR stuff from Ofna will fit on it too.Oh and I changed the pipe, stock one is not all that good but I had one here from another buggy I had and sold as a roller.

If your planning on racing it (which I think you are) then go with a race buggy. Buy used if you have to.

i wouldnt recommend the ofna for 2 reasons 1. spur/cb 2. parts avalibilty at LH just my 2 cents
09-27-2005, 07:35 PM
Well, this is on the way so if there are any must have upgrades please let me know.

Hm...I drove my friend John's once, and it sucked with steering. SO, at least a 645 is in order. What else... Mabye lay-down servo tray? Get a different pipe, his has a hideous tone to it. Some aluminum clutch shoes are also a must, we've probably gone through 3 sets on his. Anything else....Lemme think...Get a clear body and paint it up nice. The stock body is hideous.

Thanks! I've got a new 645 just waiting. Does Nova make aluminum shoes for it?
09-27-2005, 10:22 PM
Can't you just put them on anyways? Otherwise, ofna makes some. That's what I'm using on my savvy.
Oh yeah, guess what. I decided to get my t-maxx back up and running, so I went hog wild on ebay tonight and got $60 worth of stuff coming. Next week I'll do it all over again until I get the needed parts. Snagged this new bod for $16 Tekno EB48.4 HobbyWing XR8 Sanwa M12

A t-maxx *slaps forehead* when are you going to have time to play with that since you've got the Savage?
09-28-2005, 06:24 AM
eeh, I figure that mabye I'll eventually get it raceaable? Either that or it'll hit the Buy/Sell/Trade forum...
I do like that body though, And no holes are drilled so it'll be on the sav in no time Tekno EB48.4 HobbyWing XR8 Sanwa M12

This is a pretty nice buggy, looks like it can take some abuse, big .26 engine, 4-spider diffs. Only thing I don't like is it has a roto-start;

LOL dude you got me lauging
It's true, seems like some RC's I get bored with pretty quick. Especially if I got them in a trade.

This thing rips! Got it out today and did a few jumps, its definitely a good basher.
