hey all, im new here. currently live in Itasca IL. I am 17 years old, and ama a junior at Lake Park High School.
i have been into r/c for a little over a year now. i have an HPI savage monster truck. currently i am in the process of rebuilding this beast. almsot finished with ti as well. jsut need to mount the tank, linkages, and get my motor sealed( waiting on some pesky head and backplate scews to come in)

hpi lcg racing chassis. it comes with the tvp's engine plate, and roll bar.

thnx for the welcomes, and for the comments. my mom picked up the rest of the screws i needed for my motor. now i can finalyl seal this beat up, and she'll be complete! so, i also moved to itasca not too long ago. and im not too familiar with all thse neighboring vilages/cities.
anyone rather close to here?

hmm, im not going to hahve trouble with any of you tmaxx lovers am i? hahah, i know theres a bit of a rivalry between the two trucks, but common, lets all try to be mature here lol.
anyhow, i finally ot my engine head and backlate screws, sealed this puppy, and am now setting the spur/cb mesh and getting the OFNA tank installed.

well, when i first got, ive used 18/49 gearing from day 1. even with this tall gearing, it was able to pull wheelies insanely with practically stock carb settings. never got around to tuning it completely becasue of stupid little problems like the tank cracking, glow plugs burning out, no more fuel, etc.
however, though it was so powerful with the tall gearing, temps were a litle to high for my liking. it got to like 299 one time. so now im gonna run 15/49 gearing, which is set more for torque.(less stress on the motor to reach ful rpm with a lwoer gearing=lower temps)
it was a hell of a time with the 18 cb though. crazy bottom end, with insane top end. i hope the 15 cb wont affect my top too much.
anyhow, which shell do i run this summer? i cant decide lol.
