a new carb, come on. start by placing the mid screw flush with the case. and do you have good fuel, plug, what type, fuel line,no air leaks

always error to the rich side. the motor will bog when its too lean this is called a lean bog. after you check the stuff i mentioned start the car and let it run on the box. bench tune the motor, these are like a 2 stroke motor they load up just sitting. you may notice the idle rpm changes, if the motor is too lean it will high idle and when its too rich it loads up and dies

run the car and get it up to temp. most tuners will tell ya to work on the high speed first. the os v spec is a three port motor with the best carb but when it starts to get lean this motor will starve for fuel and slow down. make a couple of passes and bring the car in, it should come down to an idle right away. pinch the fuel line next to the carb it should stay at the same rpm for about 3 seconds. if the bottom or the mid's not right the top will also be effected. make a couple of passes to check the top end and try richining the top and see if the car slows. if it does then lean it,go slow with the needle adjustments,no more then 2 hours at a time until top speed. keep checking the bottom.

you didnt say what plug? mark says p3 always . the os comes with an extra shim, put it on if your going to run 30%.like i said the mid should be flush with the case, dont mess with this needle after its flush. then you only have 2 needles and the idle.

i will try that i will say that the car needs to get to running temp around 220 before it runs good but if i try to lean it out more it just bogs i mean when i hit 220 if i even turn the high needle 1 degree it will bog

you can use the pinch test for the low end or you can bring the car to a stop, dont touch the throttle, just let it sit for 10 seconds. the idle should drop a couple of rpms after about 5/6 seconds this is due to it starting to load up. then pull full throttle you should see some smoke and the car will move out without too much of a bog due to it loading up. when you are running keep an eye on the exhaust, you should see some smoke

all temp guns read different, i will use one when im trouble shooting but never to race tune.for the most part i will bench tune then go out on the track and get the top end close. then ill bring it it and check the low end, making sure the car will idle

the motor come with a shim in it,and if you are going to run 30% put the other one in. the mid needle is on the side of the carb under the highpeed needle, this is the one that changes the spray bar, timing, put it flush and dont touch it again. the low speed is on the throttle slide, where the linkage connects

the last screw on the carb is the little one with the spring on it, this is your idle screw. this does not change the fuel mixture only the slide stop for the idle.

yea i looked to see where your at, going down to the shop here in a bit. i would be happy to help you and explain to you how to tune. its very simple on these little motors, not like the 4 stroke motors where you change jets and the air fuel mixture screw is so important cause if they aint right you bog,you crash, you go see the doc.
