Damn....wish I had my brushless system already. I drive by that place at least 3 times a day while working. I've got to check this place out.

Check out the photos at their website. You'll notice there's safe secure indoor parking. So the answer is no, your car is safe. There's indoor parking for a ton of cars.

I have to check this place out. I remember taking samples of the wastewater when the bread plant was there.

Yes, that's Kole, my 10 year old.
I haven't seen the issue yet but I hear he's got a sticker on his head in one image and also has the ugliest lexan body in another image.
We raced the Trans Am nationals race this past April. That was a really fun race.
He also lucked out at that race big time and won the raffle for the HPI 18SS vintage nitro car. He's on HPI's website too.
Lucky kid!

Underground is now racing again.
New this year: CARPET!
We're currently racing on Sundays. Track opens for practice at 10am. Racing starts at 1pm. 15 bucks, 3 qualifiers and 1 main race, race as many classes as you'd like for that 15 bucks.
Also new this year:
Additional heaters in the pit area. Last sunday we stripped down to T-shirts in the pits it was so warm inside. The driver's stand now has an industrial heater installed above.
Indoor parking for 60 cars.

Hey ChicagoKenji:
It is "Jerry the Nitro Bike Guy". Does Underground RC still run nitro. Yes, it is all that I have. I get the impression they are all electric now. Can you enlighten me?
You always have the pulse of the audience-----

Hi Gerry!
UG races on carpet on Sundays with electric. They also have an "indoor arena" for nitro bashing. It's industrial concrete, about 60 feet by 300 or more. Stop by on Sunday and run that bike of yours.

So the answer is yes? Do you know of any organized races for Nitros? I still have that tank of an Inferno GT and yes, the bike still runs. Going to need some shock work and new tires for next season. Have fun guys and play nice.

I'm not sure how to answer your question "So the answer is yes?".
Underground used to have indoor drag races and nitro was a main stay of that.
This year they discontinued the indoor drag racing, installed carpet on their on road track, heated the pits better, heated the driver's stand, and are now allowing nitro and electric vehicles to bash in a different area within the building than where the carpet track is layed out.

I've been out of the hobby for years now. What kits does everyone race now? I have my older Tamiya cars. I have an FF-01, TA-02 and the newest one is the TL-01 (not really so new). I'd like to get my nephews involved, they're 13 and 15, and they are starting to get into cars. What is the majority of people running on the track? I really like the Tamiya kits because of the ease of assembly and attention to detail but it's been years since I've assembled one so I don't know if they still are the same quality. I'd like to get into it as cheap as possible because I don't know if my nephews would really stay into it.
Other than the US Vintage Trans Am class what other classes are there? The last battery pack I bought was a Dynamite 1700 7cell hump pack for my Traxxas Hawk 2. (I hope I don't show my age with that one!) Do I really need to get into NiMh or the Lipo packs? Also, do people still run AM 75 MHz radios anymore or would I need to upgrade my electronics as well?
Sorry for the long winded post, I just wanted to get as much info I can.
Thanks for all the help.
