I just went to use my maxx after fixing the receiver problems, and it drove maybe 20 feet, then just revved, my spur gear is grinded down Sad now I have to buy a new one at Al's, that is if they have any, and find out how to replace the thing on the maxx.
My R/C's:
T-maxx 2.5-front rpm a-arms, front/rear alluminum skids, pull-start, ofna failsafe, 5 cell hump pack
xmod red 1969 camaro with 6 cell conversion, stage 2 motor and body kit
xmod Red Toyota Supra-no upgrades.

xmod Silver Acura RSX-has green underglow lights, and blue LED exhaust, and body kit.-My parts car(as it is broke, and too lazy to buy part to fix it)
xmod Yellow Acura NSX-has body kit(sometimes put the RSX body on it)

ok, you know how you make that 90deg right turn right before that double at the top of that little hill. Mash the gas only when your whole rc makes it onto the downslope, don't gas it before that, make the full 90deg turn first. You'll clear it everytime.

Easy for you to say with a P5 in there.

You need to know how to replace it? Take the tank and motor off, the undo the nut take the gear off replace it, then put the motor and tank back in, take a piece of paper put it in between the spur gear and the clutch bell and gently push the motor towards the spur (center) Tighten down the motor screws on the bottom of the truck while still gently pushing the motor toward the spur, and then take the paper out and roll the truck to make sure that the mesh is good, if it is making like a grinding noise it is too tight, if it is super easy to roll it might be too loose you might want to move it a little bit to the center.

I found a tutorial online, and did it by that, it didn't have the paper technique, I got it all back together, and it seemed to spin fine, but I went to drive it and it revs high but goes slow, which way do I have to move the gears, closer together, or farther apart?

sorry I am new to this stuff.

sounds like your slipper is too loose. Tighten the slipper nut until fully tight, then back it off 1/4 turn.

yeah, your mesh is find if the gears seem to be spinning ok, do what Tex said the slipper is to loose. You just didn't tighten the nut down as far as it should be.

TEX - i did try to mash the gas after the turn and the back nailed the second jump almost every time causing multiple flips.thats why i figured a gear change, sounds like i need a smaller spur for more bottom aceleration.but i did get6 a aftermarket pipe. i put up a pick after work.maybee it will give more bottom without changing gears

your truck didn't seem like it needed more power to me GWP. Seemed fine.
Yep a smaller spur will take power away from you and give you a higher top speed. If you want torque get an 18T CB.

If anyone wants me to take their RC for a spin to try and get things figured out setup wise, just LMK. It's hard for me to tell you what you should do without feeling the truck out for myself.

i'm a bit confused?

i thought a smaller Cbell gives you more bottom/acellerartion.
a larger gives more top end
doesn't the same principal apply with the spur?

For the spur gear its the opposite.

Bigger spur for more acceleration
smaller spur for more top end
bigger cb for more top end
smaller cb for more acceleration
