lotta kids on the site recently, I think that has something to do with it. It's one thing to be young but act mature, it's another thing when you act like a preschooler.

I'm thinking of removing post counts all together. Too many post whores around here, posting in every single thread, no matter whether or not they have anything usefull to add to the topic at hand. Day in and day out. They are running the older folks with years of experience and knowledge out of here. You guys know who you are...

What's it gonna take to shape this place up? Nazi moderation like at the traxxas forums?

maybe just make your post count only visible to yourself, i agree with everybody being post whores, well not everyone but a few people in mind. and i really just like to know how many posts ive made, not as a status symbol but just to see how many posts ive made. i agree with the post whores and i hate when people post just to get their post count higher. i do really like the thing on BYT that wont let you post unless you have 50 or more. its really nice because it keeps people from coming to the forum to sell something then leaving.

I say get rid of post counts all together.

AND possibly make this a 18+ board if the kids keep acting up. Not to mention this board will become know as a "kid" board and eventually all adults will leave.

No offense to the young posters that act right, you know who you are. The other kids are ruining it for you.

I noticed it, and agree with just about everything that has been said. I don't think the forum should ever go 18+. The hobby has so many people involved in it under that age that are mature enough to be on a board like this, that it shouldn't be ruined by a few people. Worst case scenerio is warn people about immature behavior and then ban if need be. You can't tell the mature ones to get the other kids under 18 top behave.

The other thing I wouldn't do is the minimum post count for the for sale section. People know this is a great board with a good reputation. If someone really just comes by, is a straight up person, willing to meet in person, etc. then they should not be punished by having to keep posting to be allowed in the section. It may stop a few people but in the end it may just lead to 50 useless posts, just to get into that section.

Just my opinion though.... for whatever it counts for.

Get rid of the post counts and maybe put some sort of member since in its place. The 18 and older thing might have to be the answer if things keep going the way they are. I know alot of the older members are tired of the bullshit going on........

Either that Tune, or start swinging the axe around...................or I'll do it for ya =P

Dan, I think the post count before you can post in the B/S/T section is actually a good idea. If someone posts up that isnt known around here in the BST section. People might be leary of dealing with them. It's not hard to pretend your local and be somewhere else in the US. Giving a min count could give potential buyers a comfortable feeling of making transaction with someone that is well known and trustworthy around here.

18+ is hard to enforce, isn't it?
Post count, can go away, it's nothing.
Trader reputation is the key stuff. And general rep points should only be given out by moderators for substance and contribution to the community.

We have fun here, and I'm prolly one of the most "wise-cracker" members here, but that's me. I dig the RC community, race when I can, play every chance I get, and truely enjoy the scene at tracks and bashes.

Interaction with members, on the forum and in person, makes the hobby more enjoyable.

Keep the serious threads serious (unless it's Roccos stuff, sorry...) and let the "fun" topics wail away.

If kids (of all ages) get too carried away with hi-jacks and high jinx, the mods can send them a warning, then a wrist slap, then a banning. After all, three strikes is about all you get in any game (ok, 4 downs in football).

Yes age restriction would be hard, but just this past week, I have tried to make deals, and no one I am dealing with(excluding John LOL!) wants to call me to discuss further swap info. So why are these younger guys hiding behind pm's or im's, we all have to meet up sooner or later, to us older guys, lets just do what we been doing, meeting/tradeing and BASHING!!!!

i agree with you all.I mean im pretty new to this forum but am apart of other forums for my other hobbies and the the thing i have noticed most in the last few weeks, especially in the B/S/T forum ,is alot of begging, crying and poeple wanting to make deals without knowing what it is that they really want and then backing out.Im not saying its a HUGE problem, cause its only like two or three recent members (we all know who they are)but its still enough to interfere with the people that are truely interested in what this site has to offer. As far as the post count, its dumb.I dont post much here or in other forums.Im a man of few words. Im here more for the info than putting in my two cents.so just cause my post count is low does that mean that im not as credable as someone with thousands of posts? i think not. AWAY WITH THE POST COUNT!

I say just get heavier with the temp ban, or ban hammers. Begging should be warning, followed by temp ban on 2nd offense. I'm sure what these forums offer for administration policies though.

Kids should be allowed to post, most of us got into the hobby when we were kids too. I've seen grown adults act less mature than 10yr olds. I just say we should crack down on the trouble makers, I don't think its as much that there are more trouble makers, just seems to be a slump in the traffic on the board.

As for post count? I don't really care for it. Who cares if you are some 20,000 post god. I don't take advice based on post count. If the mods and admins want to get rid of it thats fine by me.

By "kids" I know we are all referring to a certain individual that people have been having some problems with. I thing a heavier hand is required, though nothing like the Traxxas boards administration, that would kill this board more quickly than anything else.
