The wind that day made it seem cooler & the sun was definitely baking. I wore a windbreaker most of the day to save my arms. I got there by like 9 am & I left around 5 pm. I was just there to take pictures & check it all out. Derek Weatherholt & his family invited me up to do some learning on how a bigger race is carried out. Being as I had just purchased an X-ray XB8 to race there & found out 2 weeks later he was closing. Bummer . I have a track that is just a flat canvas right now here at my house & there is an awesome track being built near Monon In.. It is being made for 1/5 scale vehicles & might not have a lot of jumps. It will be screaming fast though !! I drove a HPI 5B on the layout a week ago & it was a freakin' blast !! It will have a clay surface with good banked corners & AMB timing. His shop can be seen at LargescaleRC.com. If you have never seen a 1/5 scale all cranked up, You need to come check these out. I wish all the best for Max & hope he does well racing. Wanted to put this link in, so anyone who didn't know these were on here, could look at them.
