I did have the problem with one of my diffs along with many others, but its not the trucks fault.
The problem is builder error because the instructions were not clear enough on how to shim the diffs properly. The problem is actually the pinion gear meshing with the ring/bevel gear, if left too loose when the gears are new, they will strip out after they break-in
I just shimmed them the way Ive been doing it all my RC years with Savages, LST, LSP and so on, but on the ST-R you need to shim them tighter with no play when new.
There is a bunch of talk on Truggyracers.com about it and the Kyosho rep is on there helping clear up the issues.
Since redoing mine, shimming them tighter, I havent had any problems
