Beating a dead horse is what comes to mind when i see how far this topic has grown.How did we get from having problems with complaining ,begging and running up of usless posts to racey avatars, off topic posts, highjacked threads, and moderators not doing there jobs? I agree with Cezch with it starts with self moderation.The reason i like this forum IS becuse its so laid back.You really think this site has off topic post?Take a good look around at other sites. what we have here is NOTHING compared to the other sites out there.When we do have off topic posts how offten does it say off topic? maybe 3 or 4 posts? I dont see that as a problem, thats just A.D.D LOL and we ALL do it! i can go back through everyone who has posted on here and read your past posts and ill find many examples of off topic convo.As far as running up posts, yes it happens.But if your one of the many people who could care less about post numbers then why would you let it bother you.So what,your here a few months and have 1000 post?Congrats! heres a pie!Or your here a year and only have 50 posts? Congrats! A pie for you too! the point to remember here is that without posts we wouldnt have a site.We do have alot of young new members and alot of them are not familiar with how forums work. We where all at that point at one time.And the running up of post and post cout is always going to be here.So we cannot condem them because they have high post.Look at it this way, these young people are the future of our hobby. make an example and show them the correct way.As far as racey avatars in a family place, take a look on tv. the avatars on here are mild compared to what i see on tv and RC Mags.You cant turn a page in a RC add and not see something that someone somewhere would consider racey.In todays world sex sells.What can i say, if i dont like it i turn the page or change the channel. We all have that choice.As far as moderators go they have a life too. they cannot be on here 24/7 to monitor every post every sec of the day.If things do get too out of hand we have nobody to blame but ourselves.Its up to all of us to keep things on the up and up level.If there is something that bothers you, REPORT IT! thats what they make that little button for.Sitting around and complaining that your offended solves nothing cause if your not apart of the solution your apart of the problem.We all need to remember that we are all here cause we all share the same love for this hobby.Almost everyone in here has meet up with other member from here for a bash or B/S/T.And why is that?cause i think out of all the forums ive been in this one shows the greatest bond between members.This IMO is like it is because of the way the forum is right now.If we tighten up here like such and such forum or loosen up here like such and such forum what makes ours any different from the others? Its the differences here that set Chitown rc apart from the others, and its the differences that will bring more members to this forum.And last but not least if there was a problem that needed attention im sure Mr tune would have addressed the problem.
