Ok something weird is going on with my NTC3, or maybe its just weird to me.
It used to run great, started up with no problems, I took the restrictor out and have had big troubles since.
It will not pull fuel from the tank. If I take the fuel tube off the carb, cover the exhaust and pull the cord fuel pours out. If I blow through the return tube the fuel will not go to the carb. It's like the engine is sending back pressure through the carb.

Hmmmmmm.... To me that sounds like a loss of compression when the motor wont pull fuel... Its the carb idle set corectly after you took out the restrictor???

Put it back in and see if it starts. Then you will know if the restrictor is causing the problem.

I think I threw it away. The engine has alot of compression, its so strange.

Ok this morning I toyed with the idea again of putting the T-15 on the NTC3, problem is the crackshaft on the T-15 is way too short. I considered swapping crankshafts when I thought, how about just swapping carbs. I swapped the carbs and guess what, it pulls fuel great now.
So.....not sure why pulling the restrictor ruined the Associated carb but I'm just going to buy another T-15 carb.

When I pulled my restrictor out I had to play around with the needle settings( high, low, idel) once again, now it runs like a bat outtta hell! My low is set to alittle richer, you can try that.

You must retune your motor. If its not pulling any fuel that means that the needle is too tight and almost closed. when ever you change your carb insert and/or pull out the stock restrictor, you just made a change to your tune. richen it up.
GO SOX!!!!
