P5 in a Revo. EB Modded P5 in a Revo. I like it. Nice job Gabe can't wait to see it at the races this Sunday. That thing has got to have insane HP.
I guess I'm going to have to put the screws to the Supermaxx Predator this week and get it tuned and race ready. I have done very little to keep the Predator running so I guess now is a good time to check it over. It's been the ultimate in durability and reliability so it shouldn't need anything other than a good running engine. Modded P5 in a revo is over kill. You wont have much steering with it in there, the wheels will be in the air all the time. good luck. Cant wait to see it.

HAGASAN Wrote:Modded P5 in a revo is over kill. You wont have much steering with it in there, the wheels will be in the air all the time. I hear ya brudda! I'm going to have to be easy on throttle and steer hard off power. An extended chassis will help imensely. I'm also running the rear a bit stiffer so it'll push the fronts down some at 1/4 power through turns. who knows, we'll see. I need to switch the gearing from 16T CB to a 17T CB and that will also help alot. As far as it being sooo modded and not having parts when I break at a race, could be a problem, depending on what I break. I'm also thinking diffs, driveshafts, and tranny aren't going to last long if I start driving it lead fingered. :joy:

Its all in fun experimenting and trying new things out. At least you can say I have a BB Revo.
Tex with throttle control, I'd like to see that....J/K

oh....and I just made some lexan shields for the rear lower a-arms/driveshafts (like the supermaxx shields if you've seen those) I also made one for the chassis where I removed the throttle servo box.
Looks kinda cool and it'll make the truck easier to clean between races.

You definately need a 17t clutch bell. Racers Edge makes a good narrow one. You might want to think of adding 1.5-2 ozs. of weight in the nose. I use 1 oz. on my short chassis and that works very well. I tried 2 oz. but it was too much with the TZ might be better with a BB though.
When/where's the next race after this coming weekend?

DAVEC-NITRO-RS4 Wrote:So Tex, how much $$$ did you invest on top of the base Revo? Sorry, had to ask. lol :bustingup we'll leave it at that. Naw, total including revo would be $1500+ 35 hours of modding and building. I think I payed like $1000 for everything because I bought some used stuff.

I modded it to fit a full size 1/8 scale CB. Any 1/8 scale buggy motor/pipe/clutch will drop right on my revo. your right I'm due for 17T cb very soon, prolly not before the next DD race though. I think I can control wheelies with throttle control but after watching the way it's in flight "air manners" are then I'll decide if weight needs to be added anywhere. For all we know it may uncontrolably nose down off jumps. Plus my rear shocks have more preload on them than normal so that will attempt to pop the back wheels up off any jumps. My main reason for the preload in the rear shocks is for better on-power steering, it will play a part in "air manners" also. I'm not going to just add weight before testing the truck on a racetrack. I'm not sure of any organized races after the 9th at Dave's. Berwyn bash is coming, although no technical racing will take place, we will be draggin' in the grass and parking lot with radar runs taking place.
