After a few communication errors between myself and my pit guy in Dallas I've decided on getting the following in the next few months. What do you guys think? Is it worth it?

I'm looking at these with voice activated lightweight headsets.

YOu better have a pit man that is willing to wear them....
As far as locla raceing I think they are not needed, and even racing at 2 pro series events I didnt see anyone wearing them.
But hey buy them and tell who ever is your pitbeetch they have to wear them.....
P.S. Did you see on rc universe a guy had the advantage CF revo chassis and it split in half ripped threw his radio box and ruptured his battery pack casung his revo to burst into flames on the track.....

I've got a few guys that I'm fortunate enough to have pit for me on a semi-regular basis. I'm hoping that just having the headset will help a little bit. Seconds count ya know. My truck is kinda loud and indoors at LH will be worse this year because I think there's going to be even more MTs per race. I'm just toying with the idea at this point.
No, I didn't see that RC Universe article. I do know that my buddy Tony Fatback of Precision Racing Systems ripped off the whole side of his CF chassis in a race not too long ago. It's probably the same incident. He caught a God damned spike!!! (and Bernie wonders why I hate the things so much!)

Laugh it up Savy boys... Laugh it up!!!
Actually, I think he caught that spike as he has lapping a Savage (for the 3rd time probably) and the Savy, being the road hazzards that they are, bounced over and knocked him into a spike. LOL!!!
Back to the original issue, I've got a lead on some really cool military style two-way radios with throat mics like the special forces for only $200 a pair.

I usually bring my little radios to the track, but they are usually more of a pain to use cuz you have to press the PTT button in order to jaw.
THOSE radios have voice activated, that is really the best feature I've seen yet. Get em Bruce!

That's why I have an e-mail in to the tech guy to confirm if there is threshold setting for the voice activation. There is on the Nascar systems which operate in a far louder environment.
I also have a lead on a pair of military style radios with earpieces and throat mics like the special forces use for $200.

Ok, now you've crossed over into "Revo-owner stalker" territory. I have never seen anyone defend a poor choice as stubbornly as you, RCDad. jk
