Hey guys, I go tthe cable and everything and it worked perfectly.
2 more questions:
1) do I need dvd-r or dvd+r dvds, (the label on the front of my pc says dvd+rw/cd-rw)
So I would assume that I would need the plus ones for dvd and the minus for cd's????
2) I started playing with Windows movie maker, and when I started playing with the options it limited me because they want me to buy the plus part. So I buy the plus part or is there a better video editing program out there. Nothing to difficult, just would like to do some minimal editing as i get better
Thanks again

I need info too. I going to buy a new computer, whats the best chip out there now? I see the P4 in some computers and they just dont seem like they are the top dog anymore. Has the Pentium M taken over?

AMD just rules. IMO intel is just overpriced and over rated.

Well since my post was Hijacked :vader:
I think I will just buy the plus version of movie maker for the $19, unless anyone has any objections...

I use DVD-Rs and CD-Rs, I find they are more stable. I have used +r's and have had problems in the past, but they might be fine now. There are alot of fine editng programs out there. My advice would be to buy the plus version and start simple. Get comfortable with simple editing and move up from there.

Depends on your dvd player george. If your going to put stuff on dvd so you home player can play it, make sure you buy disk that your player supports. On that note, my players plays them all, so I buy the dvd-r's because they're cheaper.
For the cpu questions, the p4 is still top dog for intel in desktop solutions. If you're going laptop then is the pentium m that you want. I've never been an amd fan.

wow im the opposite of tune on this subject. I have gamed with a couple friends at lan parties and both me and my friend both running the same cpu speeds but mine AMD and his Intel i was able to bench mark higher(i dont really believe in benchmarks FYI), able to load games faster, and produce a smoother running machine. We both swore by our processors and till this day i still do. Even if there the same speeds Intel is still almost double in price of an amd that can make the same speed. But to each his own. There both good processor's so its really how much you want to spend on each of them and what kind of system you want to build.

I dont know much about PCs since I am a Macintosh User, but I will have to start learning about Intel chips soon since Apple will be switching Chip vendors from IBM to Intel. I have read, although I dont know how true, that AMD chipsets run hotter than Intels.

amd's do run hotter then intel but as long as you have a recommended heat sink on you will be fine. Right now with stock fan and chip mine is temping at 112. You can get these chips to the upper 180's before it will start to slow your computer. During gaming it normally runs about 130 max for a temp. I will forever be an AMD fan for life. Nothing but raw power and just incredible performance. Intel is fast but there just way over priced by almost double if you ask me. And from experience i have found my system to be more stable with an AMD processor as well. Seems to handle a load like internet surfing, downloading, music players, instant messengers all at once a lot better then intel's.

You gotta remember mich, when I got into computers many a year ago, amd was considered junk. I have heard from many that amd is leaps and bounds better than back in the day, so I can't down them. I've never had a problem with any of my pc's, and they were all intel based. If it aint broke, don't fix it .
