Are you 60% sure you're getting it, or you getting 60% of the building?

It would always be nice to have another track in the region to visit during the summer. Obviously you'll need a core group or local club to support your track. Many of these guys don't like to travel very far to go to a track. How big is the hobby in Rockford?

thats what im looking into now. i think there is 1 hobby shop out there, but i dont know how close there is a track to rockford or what kind of store the hobby shop is. the building doesnt have to be a track, but it is something i allways wanted to do.

I suggest that you also register on the free conferences on S-Grid.
http://www.rc-racing.com/cgi-bin/backtalk There is a conference (discussion forum) for track owners that would help you a lot.

Green Hornet, I know four guy's that live in Rockford. They race MT in WI @ the Rockpile. You should check out the LHS. I know you will get a better idea of how many people are interested. I live in Chi, and travel 2.5 hours to race. I would gladly visit your track.
Keep us informed on your decison to open the track in Rockford.

Heck if the track can accomidate indoor and outdoor electric and Nitro off road and on road I think you will be busy with it.
I like the Nitro but with Winter approaching there really is no where to go.
I can tell ya I would go there and my neighbor who is just starting out.
Leaisure is a bit of a hike for me.
