i thought the bocas were $1 too?
02-02-2006, 09:35 PM
they were 3-4 dollars last time I checked. I would definatly get avid revolution bearings. Ive heard tons of great things about those.

ok thats cool. thanks

Bocas are a dollar. Ipicked up 2 for my clutch there the other day. Seem to work fine. They feel a little weird at first but then are fine...

they feel tighter at first because they have grease in them. After one tank they loosen right up. Yep the "generic" bocas are $1 at the LHS, you have to order the avids.

How well are the boca's sealed? One tip I've heard, is with "Grease packed" bearings on a clutchbell, After a tank or two, to pull the clutch, and wipe down the bearings. Once the grease heats up and thins out, a little can slip past the shields and get in the clutch area. Some people will even remove the shields, spray out the grease, and use a few drops of high quality bearing lube.

I just run them and have success everytime. My clutch bearings seem to last forever (I hope I didn't just jinx myself)

same with me tex. Only thing i do is after the first tank on new clutch bearings i take and sand the top of the clutch shoes and clutchbell just to make sure there is no oil on the clutch. I do that about every quart of fuel.
02-03-2006, 01:42 PM
I just leave everything intact and keep running. If the clutch felt like it wasn't grabbing or whatnot then I'll remove it and do as you described. I guess it couldn't hurt to be on top of it though, better safe then sorry.

i got the revo running and im going to try to make it out to race on sunday with my new Spektrum DX3. its like the greatest thing ever invented
02-04-2006, 02:24 AM
no it isnt, m11 with spektrum is the greatest invented followed by m8 which what i got. Once you get a high end radio like one of those 2 i garuntee you will never go back. Just ask newguy on this one. He just found out how much of a difference there is.
02-04-2006, 09:38 AM
Ryan I think he was just talkng about the spektrum. If that is what you want to spend on a new radio it isn't a bad deal. Granted you can find an M8 used in that price range but this is what he wanted....
02-04-2006, 10:02 AM
Yeah, I think he was talking about spektrum in general myself. It's the greatest thing to happend to rc racing since sliced bread.
02-04-2006, 10:57 AM
Very true on both the Spektrunm and the M8...once you've used either one you'll never want to go back.
02-04-2006, 11:01 AM
yea i did mean spektrum in general. i was looking for an m8/spektrum but i couldnt find one even close to what i had to spend....

there are some that make this whiney ass loud noise. its sickning and deafning too. is it a stock pipe or somthing?
02-04-2006, 12:52 PM

I am also not a fan of the trinity pipe. When my motor was tuned right with the Vantage pipe it would hang right with them and be nowhere near as loud. I'm in a whole different world now though with the buggy pipe. Hehehehe....
02-04-2006, 02:14 PM
def not you gabe. yours is silent compaired to thiers.
they should ban that pipe.... it sucks. its right next to runnin a open header. |
