Mayhem from that list

So you guys seem pretty confident with the sportwerks buggie then for a good bang for the buck.
Yeah some of the parts will work from my MT but not all of it. I think the difference is the suspension between the two. The rest looks the same.

I guess I'll have to second the Mayhem Pro from that list as I just got mine this morning.

Okay so this buggie has been around the block and from the sounds of it---this has none of the problems like I have had with my ST then outside of the typical small stuff.
That is what is steering me away from their buggie.

Mayhem or jammin from that list. Ok... I lied. Mayhem hands down. I almost bought one myself...
11-16-2005, 11:43 AM
Chassis flex is the biggest issue the mayhem has.
11-16-2005, 11:46 AM
Jammin would be a good choice if you plan on selling it after 2 gallons. It will be worn by then most likely.
Mayhem will last longer and will be just as raceable

I just talked to Horizon and they are sending me out new axles--again.
They also suggested that I upgrade the flywheel and clutch bell to vented. At this point the clutch bell is not available just yet. As for the Axles snapping---problem is that it is the same as it is for the buggie but being on the ST using a much larger wheel looks to be that it cannot support them all that well. They did tell me that INTEGY is suppose to come out with aftermarket hopups for the Mayhem line like better CVD's, axles and such in titanium. There is another one or two companies that will be making stuff for them as well. So I dunno if some of you knew this or not or how really true this info is but take it for what it is worth. I just hope that after the ST being released they will come out with a PRO version with the updated hopups for it installed like assaciated does with the NTC3. So in all it looks like I may end up with another Mayhem but the buggie. Parts are swapable if I need it in a pinch but not all parts. It also appears to be the best bang for the buck really. Now if I can just get past my ST breaking down all the time I will be fine.

if integy is making it i wont buy it. Just knock of products that are 99% of the time weaker then plastic.
11-16-2005, 01:17 PM
I personally don't support Integy. Many reasons why, main one is they let American companies spend time and money on R&D, then just directly copy all they're hard work and pay .10cents an hour labor to Chinese folks.
Thiefs is what they are. I cannot support companies like them. Let's keep the money in america if possible. If they are the only company to offer a hopup for a certain RC I could see buying from them, otherwise let's pay the people who actually designed the part and pay their workers well. This is just my opinion on Integy

I'm not a big fan of vented CB's. Dirt and fuel can get in there and cause all kinds of havoc on the shoes.
11-16-2005, 01:33 PM
I second that although in the past I haven't had a problem with the vented CB's I've used. Maybe it was because I was using AL shoes?

Okay then I should go with the vented FW then right and skip the VCB

because the tank is on the other side. Buggies have the tank right in front of the CB. Someone pits you or you pit yourself in a hurry, think about where some of the run off might go.

Tex Wrote:out of the ones you listed, Mayhem is the ticket. Please take into consideration the wear associated with the different parts brands. Ofna seems to wear faster than others. Therfore you will be replacing alot more parts more often. That ends up costing more money and you end up spending as much as you would have buying a better buggy to begin with. not to start a debate here, just my .02. all the buggies on the list are great i want all of them. but i have a 9.5 with the picco/omega .21 and in st. louis in the run what you brung race i was keeping up with lsp's with really good drivers. i don't understand why people don't like ofna buggies! they are cheaper but parts are easy to find and cost a lot less. and i've beat the hell out of mine and haven't really broken any parts (failed landings destroyed the wing). when liesure opens and i get more track time i'm positive that i will be very competative with this buggy. again no debate just my .02.

Goes to what Mich (and others) said before....the driver makes the car perform, not the other way around. Good driver can do better with a poor car than a poor driver with the best car.

The lowerend ofnas are durable. The downside is their lack of tunability and their weight. You pay a price in weight to such a durable buggy

all of the ofnas save for the hyper, seem like they go thru diffs.... most of the people at newbs that have ofnas have stripped gears.... the shock shatfs are weak. shocks plain suck.
i believe Kyosho unis fit the mayhem. mayhem handles like i coune never get the hyper to do.

hey squirell, what makes your motor a picco? Does the box say that? cause omega picco's don't cost $125 new like your motor. Just wondering where you got the 'picco' from.
