Big help needed at Leisure this weekend

What do think would be a good tire/wheel combo for an LST?? I am running the 40's with the bowties right now.
Thx, Tex Wrote:FWIW, on a hard clay track (Like Leisure Hours) 40's don't work as good as standard size rims. 40's are good for rutted blown out outdoor tracks.

Standard bowties will work good, and the tires that come on LSP's are good too.

Are the LSP stock tires similar to Responses?
02-06-2006, 05:29 PM
what are response tires and what do they look like?

Web page says there out of stock. What size wheel do they fit? I have the Pro-line 40's

If you don't want to switch your rims (you want 40's) then just stick to the 40 bowties your using.
Otherwise any of the other tires these guys are mentioning work good at Leisure. response will fit revo rims or 40's if you cut the rim a certain way.

Gotta agree with Mich on this one. Last year the Responses gripped crazy on Bernies' dirt. No need to think anything would change. I just hope the guys running them can handle that traction!
02-08-2006, 01:36 AM
Responses are awesome at leisure! Excellent traction and super light!
02-08-2006, 11:43 AM
with the indoor track soaking wet or completly dried out you can get to much traction with the response tires either way. Talk about forward bite. Its unbelievable. My truck is hooking up more at the new track vs the old one. Response tires are were its at for leisure.

yea im definately gonna get some response tires. im just not sure if i should put them on hurricanes or go 23mm with wabashes? any suggestions lemme kno
02-08-2006, 11:50 AM
im getting a new set put on 17mm ofna's. I personally dont like 23mm setup. Its a lot of added weight and no benefit for that weight. My stock size sizes and rims hook up exactly the same as 23mm tires, they neither of them break, only difference i see is that my setup weighs a lot less compared to 23mm setup.

go with Hurricanes IMO john....

yea i was thinkin the same thing about it being lighter and less rotating mass. it will also be lighter on my wallet lol
02-08-2006, 01:47 PM
if your gonna race mt and amt then get 17mm rims for both trucks that way you can use the same tire on both trucks. Ofna makes 17mm conversion for the revo that looks very good. Im gonna give that a try in the very near future.
02-08-2006, 02:48 PM
those adapters make the revo too wide IMO. You'll see.

How does Ofna attach their 17mm hexes to the axles? Can larger hexes (without adapters) be fitted to the stock Revo axles? And IF you are doing this to run one set of tires for two classes/trucks, won't you be swapping wheels between two trucks all day long?
02-08-2006, 03:58 PM
yes you'll be swapping tires all day.
The ofna adapters attach where the pin slides through the axle. Here's how it works, you take the plastic hex off the revo axle, the slide the pin out, install the new hub adapter onto the axle, pin gets reinserted through the hub adapter making its way through the axle at the same time. Then the rims get bolted on like an 1/8 scale buggy. Hope that made some sort of sense!

Responses only fit revo sized rims right? What else would my choices be besides hurricanes and would I need to maybe regear?

they will fit 40 series rims if you cut the front and back lip off the rim. No regearing needed!
