Trinity hi flow pipe for revo
#1
im getting this pipe for christmas and i have a few ?'s for you guys who run it. is it realli true that it is like a night and day difference between the stock pipe? and should i put a rubber coupler on the header to stop it from breaking?

I can vouch for it and say that it was night and day it woke up my 2.5 and TZ. As far as the coupler I just ran the parts that came with it and had no problems with them at all.

Mine goes on fine....But when I go to put the spring around the engine the pipe just slips right off before I can get the other side of the spring attached...

It just sucks to do. Pliers help. Let me know how performance is compared to the vantage pipe... if you have any idea.

Hey John!!!!I got mine on!!!I found out that all you have to do is first, take the pipe off the header. Then take the clear seal and put it on the engine where it's supposed to be. Slide it off about 1/4 or less of the way, so that the end of it starts to like.....pull together and become smaller. That way, the manif., when you put it over, will sort of push it the rest of the way on, and since the first part is smaller in diameter, it'll fit right in without getting bunched up. Hold on the manifold, and put the spring into the inner hole first, then stretch around to the outer hole. Hold the manifold really well when you do this or it'll slip off. Then attach the pipe and BAM! It's on. I just did it. Then I put on my 3 shoe clutch so I can whoop you tommrow....hehehe

Will this pipe work on the OS .18 tm as well?? I am pretty sure it will but I want to make sure that if I get a pipe now it will work for a later motor...

yes it is for the tm and it also comes with a header for .21 and up motors also

I will see how much cash I have left over when I go to al's and what they say they like better between that and the vantage.

hahaha....I like both of the pipes. I've probably seen this pipe run before not knowing it, and I've seen Tune's revo with stock motor and vantage pipe. I can tell you though, that the CF pipe stays cool enough that you can shut it off and not have to worry about burning the crap outta your hand. Also though, it uses the stock header, and that's pretty crappy....So you still have to deal with that issue of bending/breaking. My.02

gotcha... If I went with the vantage I would probably get a new header too... that would open it up and probably give it some more pop.

Hey guys, howdy! As you can tell I'm a nOOb to these forums. Anyway, I figured I may as well post something instead of just lurk. I own both Vantage and Trinity pipes, and have run both on the stock 2.5R and the O.S. .18tm. The Trinity wins performance wise, but not by much. The Vantage is definately the quieter of the two. Just my two cents worth. Anyway, I look forward to meeting some of you at the Chi town area tracks when the weather warms up. Later - DaveB

Dave, good timing on the post. I was just asking the same pipe question today under general Revo discussion. I'm leaning toward trinity. You wouldn't be selling yours, would ya?
