snakebite46 Wrote:r0nd3l, do you already have a JT Chassis ?
Lol, no, why would I ask opinions about it if I had it
I currently run stock chassis with UE 3-Point braces I got from DO-U-MAXX. So, my options for future would be either 1) Get Predator deck or 2) Get JT chassis for better handling, center diff, etc.

george thats a very well put together post. I used to be like bruce when i first started off and just only ran one thing and put everything else down but ive grown up since my first couple days in rc and just started having fun with it and mainly hanging out with you and all of the other guys from this site. Everyone wins and loses races but when you got a great bunch of guys to talk to in the pits inbetween races is really what makes you want to come back for another race.
Run what you want rond3l and just have as much fun as possible. I know at times people can get caught up in it and go over board but remember why you first started this hobby. If your not having fun whats the point of spending hundreds of dollars on something that only gets you mad? When you come to leisure look for our group of people because your more then welcome to hang out with us in the pits.

LOL thought maybe you bought one and were just asking questions about it.... =P
Sixvi6Camaro had or maybe even still has a JT Hybrid. He'd be the best guy to answer your questions about the chassis.

welcome back Matas!
I had a stock maxx chassis with the UE predator braces and it was a stiff layout. I took it to a couple races last season and did pretty good.

You guys crack me up. If you really care about the guys' budget give him honest advice! You're more interested in disagreeing with me than giving him HONEST advice.

People, get a sense of humor!
However, on a very serious note, I'd be curious to find out why all of you keep spelling God with lower case "g". Have you no respect?

So, I read that there is a lot involved when going to JT. Chassis itself is cheap though, only $70 from UE. What else would I need? I have no clue what else besides the center diff/tranny and which one. Anybody reading this post with JT conversion?

I would go with the Predator chassis from UE / Dace. Thats what I'm running and I really like the way my truck handles. I think I have read the JT brand chassis has too much flex. I think thats why UE sell the replacement JT chassis. Sixvi6Camaro is the only guy I know who had the JT and I think he sold it on ebay about 6 months ago because he kept having problems with the clutch bell or the spur. Not 100% sure but maybe he will chime in here and give you his opinion.

The JT is a big block chassis, and since its a pan chassis w/ a center diff, you would get thrown in the arena truck class against .28 powered CRTs and stuff like that.

ok first of all rond3l good luck with your sportmaxx! i mean that in the best way possible! i am kinda in the same boat you are , we are both running something that is not really deemed ''race worth''. i am running an ofna 9.5 yes the odds are stacked against us but it's what we have and what we like! i don't know where satoch gets off blatantly(sp?) telling you to buy a revo, just because it is winning doesn't mean that nothing else can win! it seems to me that sponsored drivers should be a little bit more mature when they post!
not bad mouthing him here, since i've never met him personally. but i think that if i were to be sponsored i would try to help another person and support their decision. and i think God complex is correct!
but whatever, good luck with your s-maxx i hope you win a few races, and shut some people up!
Quote:Matas, Ryan just wants another person in the production MT class to beat up on since everyone is jumping ship and going to truggy.
Why aren't you running stock mt anymore? jumping ship i presume?

Hmmm... since I have been gone all day I am going to skip all of the reading and say this. Hey, welcome back. (and where in lombard do you live). Run what you want and have fun with it. I have a revo and I love it. (but I also love a supermax.) hope to see you at a bash or at the track...

It seems Predator will be the choice for me. I don't want to get involved in all that JT stuff and I don't want to race .28 big blocks anyway. Of course, now stock chassis will do for me. What class would I be in with the mods I have?

all the monster trucks are in one class now, big block and small block, so you'll be up against other maxxs, revos, savages, LSTs, TNXs, etc...
