CVD Question
#1
I read that some people use CA glue to keep the pin from falling out. Is this important to do/should I do it. Also should I put grease in the boots. I got the hot bodies. Also how far does the end of the boot go on the CVD? Like to the end of the actualy cvd/where it meets the axle? If you have a picture that would be great.

Thanks

PS: Snakebit46, thanks for the cvds again.

Just loc tite it. I would say to do it. I had mine slide out on myStorm and it is a PITA to take it apart and have to fix it if you would have just loc-tited it in the first place...

Ok thanks. I just edited the post the same time you posted. If you have a question to that also that would be great and if anyone else has something to add.

Id stay away from greese. Just makes the boots slide off. Keep them clean and a drop of oil should be fine.

DrDex from UE made this for me when I bought his UE 8mm steel CVDs... it should apply to other cvds also.

looking at the picture, it seems that you can't lube MIP CVDs the way you can do with UE cvds.

Ok. I see what you mean. These will do for now or until they break. Then its off to UE.

unless you over extend the suspension, I doubt they will "break"... might wear out after a while (like over 5 gallons).

Oh. Then if I don't have a problem with them, they are staying with me. LOL I don't know how many gallons snakebite46 had on them.

Should I just spray them with the silicone everyone once and a while?

I put the boots the other way on MIPs. Of course, they squish down when inserted into hub but work fine. I didn't fill them with grease though, just lubed a little.

I just picked up some silicone spray. I put the puts on the way you said to rondel. I'll see how it goes when I get my truck together.

BTW: don't want to start a new thread, but are there any hobby shops that carry tony screw kits?

You might be able to get a hobby shop like leisure hours, or Als to order them for you, but then your probably better off ordering them yourself.

Ok thanks. I tried my LHS and HT in orland and they don't have any. Probably end up ordering it today. Rob, do you know what kind of pullstart I need to order for the cv-rx. There is like 6-7 different types.
