What a crappy last few days!

we learned in health class that it takes about a year for your body to fully recover from the effects of smoking. So after u quit, which u will Smile, a year from then u should be a "healthy" man again lol

Oh and quitting ads about 7 years to ur life

GOOD LUCK

my gf quit last year, and she had been smoking for 12 years. she did it by starting with the nicotine gum. started with a full piece for a couple weeks, then a half piece, and then eventually she just switched to regular gum and after about a month she didnt need anything.

No patch or gum for me. I'm going cold turkey with it. Not easy at all...

I gotta thank those who smoke, who've chosen not to when I'm around these last few days. Makes it much easier.

well if it becomes tough u might look to the gum, it's not that expensive and seems to work well.

Think about it this way---a pack a day for a year straight is putting a quart of tar into your lungs....

John, I never smoked (cigarettes that is), and I've heard that quitting is harder than quitting heroin (don't believe it), but I'm confident that you can. Sounds like you have an addictive personality, many of us do I'm sure. Just try to find something else to focus on. I like to focus on sex and rc racing. That helped me get off the pipe. LOL!!!

Seriously, good luck.

Good luck John Dimo and Rich!

I spend about $600 a year on smokes (a pack lasts 3 days, or about 2 packs a week). The doctor told me that the average healthy human adults body can fight off the effects of 6 or less cigs a day. I just try to keep it at 6 or less.... Not saying I'm healthy though...lol

I used to smoke in high school. Then I stoped for a long while but do smoke a cig once in a while. A pack lasts a month for me... so Most smokers say I'm not a smoker and Non-smokers say I'm a a smoker. lol.

Good luck to the Guys kicking the habbit completely! Like was mentioned the first month is the worst.

It's so good that you're trying to quit. I quit for 2 years. I went to Lake County Health Department for a stop smoking class. The guy there had a good plan. I wore a 14mg patch, and when I had those really strong urges/cravings, I took a peice of nicotine gum. To make a long story short, it worked rather well. I did however start again when I went to Florida last time. Sooo, I failed where you could succeed.

Nicotine Patch + nicotine lozenge / nicotine gum for acute cravings or urges = Success

I tried the gum once... I didnt fully read the instructions and chewed it like regular chewing gum. I ended up passing out in my friends living room during a dinner party.

Tune, when you really start jonesing about no smokes, just pull out the Glock stress reliever and go BLAST SOMETHING. Works great!

In my many failed attempts to quit smoking I found Wrigleys Eclipse spearmint gum works very well to help subside cravings. I have also tried Australian Tea tree chewing sticks which also work very well, the only drawback is when the craving is really bad I tend to chew the stick to the point where I am pulling tiny wood splinters outta my gums. Although shooting at stuff seems like a good stress reliever too...
