Hey Just Found The Forum Looks Great. My Question Is What Are The Popular Races At Your Track? I Had A Car When I Was Younger But Have Been Out Of The Seen For Quite Awile. I Want To Get Back Into It, And Racing Would Be My Main Interest. I Picked Up A Copy Of Rc Car Action And After Looking It Over Im Thinking About A Monster Truck, Revo Or One Of The 1/18th 4wd Buggys. How Are The Turn Outs For Thous Divisions? If Thier Not Too Great What Is The Most Popular? Thanks

welcome to the boards, This year most popular is going to be Arena truck. There 1/8th scale monster trucks with a center diff. Most popular are LSP and CRT, also mugen, hpi, cen make arena trucks. This is gonna be the year for arena trucks. I would definatly buy that.

Hey All,
looks like I will be able to hit the track this Thursday night! Anyone else gonna be there? I'll be (hopefully) messing with the new Matrix if the parts come in by then. As well as all my usual toys. Will have the Nomadio there also. So far it's pretty cool!
I'll bring stickers as usual.. so stop by and say hi and ask for a sticker or two for your car!

Hmmm.. think this post will stay or get moved? Tex?

probably won't be there Sunday.. I'm not really a 'racing' guy. Don't want to have to depend on a pit crew, stuff like that. It's also harder for me to get out there on the weekends, usually end up doing family stuff. I'd like to make it out some Sunday though and get some cool race footage and pictures for the site.

brian, if possible, you should come out wednesday instead. A few of us are going to be there for some practice. I'll be breaking in my new hellfire while I'm there.

Welcome Mecha...
It all depends on what level of competition you want. There is a lot of good, fast drivers in all the classes, but if you want to "work your way up", I would say start in the MT class (Revo, Savage, LST, __ Maxx, etc.) and go from there. If you want to "Jump in the fire", start in the UMT or Truggy class (Hot Bodies LSP, Jammin Truggy, etc.)

if u are looking to start out, try a 1/10th scale, its smaller and cheaper a little tougher to drive, but i will really teach u throttle control

Czech is right about 1/10. You learn how to make a car handle rather than power it through everything. 1/8 scale buggy is going to be the largest and one of the most competative classes. To run the A-main you need a virtually flawless qualifier. Arena trucks (or truggies) are right on the buggies heels. MT is next (And what I run with my Revo). It is a good place to get started and usually has 2-3 mains but I am predicting more towards the warmer months. 1/10 is kind of small with 1-2 mains but is the cheapest and best place to learn. From there just get track time and have fun. Everyone is always willing to answer questions and help out wherever necessary...
And I have about 1/4 gallon of fuel so I won't be bashing a lot. (Or I will be buying another gallon) to race with...

You guys that can't find another $30 for fuel have no business even being in this hobby. Go back to reading about it online and make more room on the track for guys who can afford it. Seriously.....pathetic....what are you gonna do when somethng breaks? Park it for 3 months while you save for parts? Move out of mom and dad's house and get a real job.
Step aside children.....
Oh and by the way,

Was there tonight.
The track changes are pretty cool. Ole Bernie did a great job of mixing it up making some areas a bit faster, and others a bit more technical.
A few new twists there, a jump added there, a corner narrowed over there, and the damn car flippin quint section is STILL there
Seriously though, you would need to go check it out for yourself, alot has changed but much remains the same. LOTSO fun! :pow:

ok.... starting on the front straight.....
the dub trip are the same as is the double, then up to the plat form.
now you dont "U" turn there, you go left for 10 feet, cut back to the
left 120* then right 170* and up to where you step up to the straight.
go down the straight sweep 90* and go down a long hill by that garage
door. 180 back twords the straight and left over the table top, 2nd
table same, turn left, turn right, same. now where that bank was and
that trip onto the front straight .... thats gone.

Gotcha... so a little more technical after the first larger double, a little more leading into the first table, and they gout rid of the last tripple that I just learned how to nail coming onto the straight. LoL. Sounds awesome... can't wait to run it.

ya once offroad season starts bernie will be changing parts of the track on a weekly basis so theres no getting used to one layout and being fast. Its adapting to something new every week and learning to go as fast as possible as fast as you can

I can't wait for the outdoor track. For a track of that size do you generally reccomend a larger motor with different gearing or gear up your current motor a bit?? What do you normally do...

I would just gear up on your motor and have at it. Slow is fast so no need to be trying to do do mach 10 around the track and crashing in every corner. Altho I know cemebk will but we now accept him for who he is.

14 tooth bell is gonna be required outside.
i ran a 13 and was topped out 1/3 into the straight.
i actually got off the gas and blipped it, didnt wanna kill the motor.
