This is the official V2.0 discussion thread. As many might know, I have been working on it in my free time. I have invested many many hours of planning, research, etc on what I'd like to do and now I'm look for some constructive critisism, comments, concerns, suggestions, etc.
For members who've voiced concern on some issues, and may have or have not received a direct response, don't worry, I listen.
Nows your chance to have an official say with the growth and change of this site. If you don't speak up now, don't compain about stuff not changed or added that you feel is needed later.
I've setup a development board for testing things out that I'm working on so this site will stay unaffected. http://dev.chitownrc.com/forum.php
Many things may or may not work so don't worry. Wait for me to post about something, then check out the site and provide feedback.
Ok, with that said, onwards to the first topic of discussion....
I can changed the forum around a little. There have been deletions and additions. An LH forum has been added. Srtickly on-topic forums have been created. General R/C and off-road have been merged.
What do you think? Remember, nothing is final until it's done. Now's the time to speak up.

Before I forget. New memberships have been stopped and all members have been removed to help prevent posting and whatnot. Please not try to log in or register. It's a development board and I have to accidentally corrupt the database if someone's posting while I'm making changes. While not likely, it can happen, and I'd have to practically start over. Thanks for understanding  .

looks good, are you going to put up different skins, i like the drivetrain, suspension and radio forums. thats a good idea

Hey john i was only kidding about V2.0, i can only imagine how hard it is to put a new board together! It looks good, and anything that works here will work there.

The look you see is the default look of the forums. That's guaranteed to change. Right now I'm concentrating on the main stuff. The design comes last.

John, I'm sure all your work will show when the new version is final. Take your time, and don't overwork yourself. This board is doing great, and I'm sure the new format will just make the forums better. The addition of a LH section is a great idea. One possible idea for the "Tech Forums" would be maybe a user setup, so people can ask freely what setups are working for different tracks. Also, with all the painting side work that Mike gets, maybe a section for painting.

Not too bad. I am kind of addicted to the dark skin so it would take some getting used too... so can we please get a dark one?? easier on the eyes at night especially)
I would also like to have pictures in our sigs but I understand if you think it will look like crap and slow down the boards. My only other real request (which I'm not sure if it's there or not because I can't/won't sign in) is the quick reply box. I use it all the time and it is a big help...
(And although being a mod would be cool... it would be just like tommy asking. And we know timmy isn't mod material. :-p I'm just playing man...)

I don't know if I'll have a dark skin yet. The default will be light colored. Also, the quick reply box is there, you simply can't see it because you're not loggin in . The quick reply box is even faster now.

Over 300 members in just over a year and a half, for a LOCAL site, that's HUGE.
As for the mod thing, joking or not, just leave things as they are. The mods that are in effect now are doing a great job. I'm sure if Tune determines a need for more mods, he will make that known.

And yeah... looks great and I thought that was the deal with the quick reply box. (And I will miss my dark skin. I hate posting at night on the light one. Makes my eyes bleed. LoL)
