Allright... today at the track sucked. At first the motor looked good... then nothing!!! It would run and then die when we took the ignitor off it would die... changed plugs, same thing. I missed the first 2 qualifiers because of this. I ran terrible in the third one. The truck wouldn't steer and the motor was unpredictable. We finally got it running decent in the C-main and after starting dead last almost a lap down from a late start I started slowly coming back. I came all the way up into 2nd or 3rd when someone turned their radio. I had a runnaway into the pit wall. It stopped, was flipped, and seemed ok. Then it took off the other way, flipped, landed right side up and took off down the back straight into oncoming traffic... Terrible day at the track... nothing went right and I think mike is convincing me more and more to go scale... so who wants a revo? Big Grin

switching classes isnt going to help anything unless you learn to wrench on your stuff and maitence it. Take the truck apart, clean it. Make sure everything works, linkage is free from binding. Then take the time in practice to tune the motor.

Don't let 1 mishap turn you down that quick. It's a fresh setup that have not raced yet. It takes some time to work out the bugs and get it adjusted to your driving style. For instance, your problems steering weren't the truck, it was driving. I was watching your main and you were going way to fast into many of the turns. I tend to do the same thing if I've been frustrated by a bad day. Gotta learn to calm down and run your race. Gotta remember, that BB will get going much faster than a 2.5r. Throttle control is key with a BB in a revo!

Just a little helpfull advice. Hope it's not taken the wrong way Smile.

Remember, Practice, Practice, Practice. Practice is the key to winning.

Switching classes wouldn't be to help anything... it would just be to run a different class. And where did you get the fact that I need to learn to wrench on my truck?? The only thing that I have not done entirely myself was mod the chassis to fit the 1/8 scale clutch. Gabe just gave me a starting point and some tips... I actually did all of the work. I work on all of my stuff myself. There is NO binsing linkages and everything. I ran a good bit in practice and everything was good. I don't know what changed before the first qualifier... I had help from MX Kevin, Newguy, and Czech with tuning... for some reason it was all over the place. There is only so much you can do...

No... no PM...

And John... I love running MT so it will take one really good deal to get my to go scale. I have always wanted to race scale but got impatient and sold my buggy when I was waiting for the track to open. Every time I watch that class I want one again... I don't know how else to say that I don't want to switch just because I am not happy with the results in MT. I know that in scale I will only be further back...

Nope... that tank is sealed tight and I have no weird idle. I just need to get the factory settings and start over I think. I need it to be nice out too. LoL. I was able to blow through the pressure line to the tank though and not blow the seal anywhere...

Is the seal on the tank lid blue or orange? If it's blue scrap it and get the replacement one from traxxas. Get new fuel line too just to be sure.

I ran all new lines and got a new orange o-ring today. That sucker really PoP's now when you open it...

I just got an idea... first I am going to shorten my ungodly long fuel line and second I am going to try to get it off of the header... if it is getting hot enough I wonder if it is boiling air into the fuel before it hits the carb...

I went through 2 OS 8's and 2 MC 59's today... and it wasn't running them too lean to blow them....

that motor uses short plugs like the os8, not the longer mc59's... Mike is on to something with the deck height, maybe just pop a shim under the head, wouldn't hurt to try.

What exactly is the motor doing? overheating and dying? Too rich and stalling?

It ran longer on the MC-59s than on the OS 8's. And it was doing everything... rich, lean, dieing, bogging... if a motor can do it it did it...

And mike thanks again for your help... I was ready to crush that thing with my dad's truck when I got home...

The other thing that pissed me off was the handling. I tried going slow into turns and accelerating out, coming in fast and railing them, fast and braking, sliding... nothing. The weight transfer seemed all off. It was like there was no grip up front. No matter what it would just push... I don't know... that thing is so far the other way from where I hoped I would be heading. I made everything worse this week with the exception of straight line speed...

I could be wrong here but. . . bigger motor equals more wieght being pushed forward when on the brakes causing the front to be pushed along instead of grip! I'm pretty sure a .21 weights more than a .15.
