thanks the speed 3 clutch is great i love it, and i finally got the fuel linr routing the way i like it, i was wondering if anybody knows of some thin insulator to try to wrap the fuel lines and filter to keep the heat out? has anybody experimented with anything like this or is it not worth the effort? and has anybody considered a heat sink (thin alum plate) to suck and heat away from the carb ? just some stuff i have used on full sized race cars and i was wondering if it can be translated for use on rc cars?

a heat sink on the carb will most likely cause tuning issues, thats why people tend to shy away from alum carb assemblies. The majority are plastic. Dont bother with try to keep the heat aaway from the fuel line its not worth the effort

thats why they use plastic carbs becuase the aluminum carb atracts the heat from the block and head and the plastic doesnt as much, thats what i figured about the fuel line what about wraping the exhaust in some type of header wrap?
07-12-2006, 11:59 AM
ive never heard of wrapping the header I would think that u would want the exhaust system to be as hot as possible in order to give u better back pressure--like with stainless steal pipes

Keeps the heat in rather than letting it out.
