Thats why your getting rear ended dave ... The guy behing you has the RIGHT to go when the green light goes on or he hears the worg " GO"! I in no way condone (sp?) ruff driving but maybe you just need to be more aggresive on the start.

I can't see my car past the Rocco's ass on the far side of the track! LOL!! J/K Rocco, butt seriously (pun intended), the guys collective asses should be facing the wall not the driver's stand.

I just don't see how anyone can argue with this type of a starting gate design. It's probably just me. Wait until Sonny proposes it, like the numbered cones, and it'll be like a revelation from God.

Best gate is no gate in my opinion.

With a starting gate, you have 10-12 vehicles inches apart from each other gunning their engines, then all at once the gate drops, and the wheels are spinning so fast before they drop then when they drop they always never hold their line and one bumps into another and so the end result mass chaos. I also dont like the way guys try to cheat and put there buggy as far forward as they can so in other words almost giving a half car lead.

He asked about experiences with gates! I have no experience with the one in the video, so I cant't comment on that one.

Sorry, I didnt know you were talking about your experience with gates in that post.

The gate in the video though, IMO is great!
No one can cheat or slam into you on the start. That and the pit guys cant mess up and or cheat buy droping the car too soon, causing the whole pile up.

i have seen 2 different gates on videos. one posted here and another that drops all at once in a line.
i can see how the latter would suck and cause pileups in the first turns, but the one shown here seems to help the posibility of pileups.

which gate did you race on and how was it and what efects idi it cause?

The one in the video looks good, but I wouldnt hold my breathe for one anytime soon at any of the local tracks. Plus that does away with the holeshot award. Teh hole shot is always fun to watch especially round 2 last year in umt when JT's lsp shot about 15 feet up in the air... LOL

any way you look at it theres goign to be somthing flawed. Like Rocco said earlier, if you are in the 12th position, by the time your gate dropped to let you go the leader would most likely be lapping or you just about to. A lot more cleaner racing at the start but very boring and easy to predict who wins if its a good driver.
