I noticed on my revo today that the front diff is really hard to turn for some reason, the breaks aren't on and the rear diff is fine. But it seems like the front one is super hard to turn. Could it be low on oil or something? I'm going to take it into LH Wednesday if I can't figure what is wrong.

I'm not sure whats wrong with it, I guess I can just take it in and they can tell me whats wrong and what I need to fix it, and I'll do it.

You could fix it yourself. Take it out, take it apart, and check it out You'll be surprised how easy it is when your done.
BTW, with oil in the diff it should be harder to turn(so to speak) when spinning one wheel. The diff oil goes in the diff cup that bolts to the ring gear with four little screws. You need a light amount of heavy grease for your Pinion and ring gear when reassembling. Just a light coat so the grease coats the teeth.

OK, I'm not afraid to take it apart, I just don't know what I'm doing inside the diffs, it runs fine, but I can tell it is a little slower, and when I get off the gas it slows down like the brakes are on, I just came in from outside and when I turn the front wheel it doesn't even feel that smooth like the rear, I think it might just be leaking oil or something.

The truck came with a manual right???? Take it apart and follow the manual! Driving it is prolly just doing more damage to internal gears/diff cup... If it is already messed you will most likely have some parts to replace anyways now.
The only way to learn is to dive in and take it apart... JUST KEEP THING ORGANIZED... if you dont think you'll remember where screws came from get a piece of cardboard and push the screws into it... Then write on the cardboard where they came from. Take you time and have fun with it... Somtimes tinkering is just as much fun as racing... Knowing you built something so cool is very gratifying (sp?)

Yeah, I guess I will have to download the manual, I didn't get one. I guess I will just start ripping it apart tomorrow.

t-maxx diffs cant run fluid. They dont seal so if you fill them in 1 or 2 tanks the fluid would have already leaked out. Just gotta run grease in maxx diffs.

Very true. It took me like a month of racing my revo for the first time to figure out that that was the best combo to use. I then shared it with the world and it just happened to be that those diff combo's work on just about any track.

OK, cool, thanks guys, yeah rocco, I took it apart, I'm surprised the diffs are so simple, I had more trouble getting the stupid things lined up so the diff would slide out of the bulkheads, LOL. I'm heading to LH tomorrow after school to get some oil.

I just rebuilt my rear diff this past weekend. Soo easy, and I have never seen a rear diff before, I didn't really know what they did! It was alot easier then I thought with less parts then you would think. One problem. My LHS sold me 30k, they said it was for the rear. So, I have 30k in front AND in the rear diff. how will this effect my handling? Should I rebuild it and get some 10k? I usually bash on big grass fields, baseball diamonds, etc. some jumping but nothing over 5-6 feet.

for bashing thats fine. For racing 30 up front, 10 in the rear.
