A 15-16 year old Sophmore has the advantage there. The body is still young, and able to repair itself easier. Just wait, soon you will be an old fart like some of us, and wonder how someone can throw 50 pitches, without needing a new arm... lol

Not to mention, that was 160 pitches, then a week later throwing 130. A lot of the time, Major league pitchers will throw 2-3 games in one week...

The poor guy(Bartman) I felt bad for him. I too for a minute wanted to rip his face off. But then, I was like... hell, I might have gone for the ball too. It was really Alex's fault he muffed the double play.

On a sad note, how depressing is it, that a US Marine goes to Iraq, serves 2 terms, comes back safe, then goes to a Baseball game, in his hometown and gets shot on his way home....

Sorry for the off-topic comment, but PoPRC's sig reminded me of that....

Why would the Cubs owners dish out more money for better coaching, or players, when the fans are ok with having a team that can't hold it together all season?

But answer this question.... Just because I don't (can't) go to a Sox game, does that make me any less of a "True Fan" than someone who does go to the games? Just because I don't have the extra $50+ (Ticket price, parking, a couple beers, etc.) to go to a game doesn't mean I don't support them.

Being a TRUE fan means you are a fan of that team, win or lose, which I have always been a Sox fan.

Chris I was not saying that because you can't make it to a game that you are less of a fan! I was stating that someone who wouldn't want to go to a game when they are losing is less of a fan! If I have a ticket I'm going regardless of win loss count!!!

And to anyone who questions my loyalty or intellegence(SP? HEHE) read the last thread about this!

Last year I didn't want to cheer for the Sox but I did! Out of respect, they were doing something that hadn't been done in Illinois for a long time! As of right now! Suck the Fox!!!!!!!!! (change the first letters around!!!)

I'm the sameway, if the Cubs are doing good in the play offs like they were a few years back I wanted them to win, just because they are a Chicago Team, even though I would prefer the Sox.

That is sad. I can say this one thing that really pisses me off about the Cubs is that they do not give free tickets to Service men and women. My kid brother who is a US Marine, and is set to go back to Iraq soon is a big White Sox fan(mainly I think cause I am a Cubs fan) wanted to go to a Sox game while back on leave last season. So myself and my Step father took him to Comiskey to see a game and he was issued a free ticket. I thought that was great and I think every team should do it. I think its BS that the Cubs dont do this.

As much as I would like to see the sox do well against the cubs... that series really means nothing in relation to the season.

The only problem with this comment, is that in regular season, the Sox haven't taken a series against the Angels since '94.

How sad is that? The Cubs fans have gotten bored (or tired) of making excuses for the Cubs losses, so they are starting to make excuses for the Sox wins...

I have been saying that for as long as I have seen a sox game.....sometimes its better to have luck than skill....

I dont make excuses, I have been accusing the Cubs of being a bonehead team for years! But what I would love to see, and what I have told many in the past ( at least close friends) is that the Cubs would not win a WS until 100 years elapsed since their first appearance in one. Well this is the year folks, 100 years after getting their cans kicked in the 1906 World Series by our crosstown rivals the White Sox. Both teams first appearance and the only crosstown WS for Chicago. The Cubbies went on to become the first team in WS history to win back to back WS(1907,1908), both against the Detroit Tigers. So I think that, well I hope that the Cubs organization is cognisant of this and will push hard for a rematch. We gotta a 100 year old bone to pick!
Incidently the Cubs have made 10 WS appearances to the Sox's 5, however the Sox have won 3 of those 5 and the Cubs only 2. This does not include pre-WS play.

I'm not sure, but it was a pretty tough game, they barely held on to it, but they did. They went thru like 4 different pitchers in the last few innings.

Mike... In the end the cubs are still 3 or 4 places behind a team with roughly the same record as the sox. You really don't have room to talk. Hell the cubs got outscored 25-2 in 2 games!!!
