Is anyone runnign Lipo's yet.

I am thinking of ordering some HTbatteries for my m11, and a 7.4v 1500 receiver pack. and the regulator and switch.

LOL. The stock 3PK batts are real weak. the red pack is nicad type i think and doesnt hold a good charge. Get some 2400 aa from walmart and youll be good to go.

Lol. Red pack SUCKS!!!. The 3pk requires a pack with a male plug Sad I have 2400's in my XS3 and thought of using them before. Maybe I'll check out some LiPo's Smile

Well I made the jump to Lipo.

Got all the ht stuff.
(2) rx packs,
(1) m11 pack
(2) regulators
(1) wall charger
(1) balance charger....

From what I hear it should be worth it.....

Just have a pack made up for that 3pk. I would check into Helotes or HTbatteries for something else. I know I had CHip at AL's make me a couple packs of the 2400 for it when i had one. You can also get the futaba battery cage to hold them in there too, and you can charge while in the holder also. Thats really all you need to use 2400s.

I just soldered a rad shack 2100 nimh in my xs3. the 9.6 pack fist right in and I use the standard charging jack. its not the lightest but the pack is cheap and holds a charge for a bit.

Well I got everything today, Packs are super klight and small. The Pack for the m11 is actually smaller thna the recv'd packs. It really lightens up the radio. I haven't installed the recv'r packs yet, but I tell you this shoudl make everything fit a littl eeasier....

Since everyone is talking about batteries I have a question. At the track I was having problems with my switch for my Rx and ended loosing power and going about 3/4 throttle into the wall at the back straight. I want to pick up a helotes rx pack. For those of you who don't run switches, do you just plug the battery right into the rx or how do you do it?

Most guys run Deans plugs off their RX packs to the RX.

How does that work?

you make a lead to go from the rx ( use the one off the battery pack) and you replace the rx packs connector with a deans plug...

its almost easier not to use the DEANS plugs, I was using them for 2 yrs and have since gone back to a switch, but you can always have a regular wire coming off the rec like a Y harness ad use it to connect to the battery outside of the battery box...one way to get around the DEANS connectors

I had a problem with a switch that came with a kit once. Since then I've been using Airtronics switch harness with the charging jack "Y" and havent had a problem with them in almost 2 years. But, I do see alot of guys at the track with deans or some other sort of plug system on their buggies.

So can I use the little gauge wire that comes on the Rx pack or should I use something bigger?

switches are unpredictable... im all about preventing crap to happen.

i use mini deans and will never change.... its to easy to use. and i can switch batt packs in nothing flat.... i dont need a "charge"lead as its already hangin out.
