Thanks
I'm getting a little better with cleaner lines.
09-23-2006, 09:26 PM
thats pretty sweet man clean lines and all, u used fastint on the shadows didnt ya lol, try thinned down black, and a lower psi you will have to make more passes to build up the shadow but it will look cleaner. you got alot of nice clean lines but its a little boring with nothing on the sides or anything. good work tho.

It is actually just fasblack. I really didn't like how the shadow turned out. I turned the PSI down to about 25 and I don't know if it is the crappy gun or what, but nothing was happening. No paint would come out.
I couldn't think of a good design to do on the sides without making it a 2-tone scheme.

Looks nice, you coulda just done some tear-away revealing CF on the sides.

Huh. Just use water? Should I thin it in the bottle or in the color cup right before I am going to paint?
09-24-2006, 11:56 AM
take a mixture of windex and water mix 50/50, then take ur "thinner and mix it 60(thinner)/40(paint) u can do it in the cup

Do you have any trouble with the paint beading up when its that thin??
09-24-2006, 02:08 PM
not really, u have to keep the air pressure low like 5-10 psi and make very light passes, but u can get unbelievable shadows

Now that has to take some serious time!! Very cool

That guy makes my paint jobs look like I was blowing paint out of my mouth through a McDonald's drinking straw.
TK Customs stuff is some wicked artwork that happens to land on lexan shells. Not sure if it was his works, or another shooter on CFX, but did you see the guy who painted over the droplets of water? It was wild, and difficult, I'm sure. But the finished product looked just like water drops on the finished shell. Outrageous.

Starting my 8ight body today. I hope to have it done tonight or Friday. I suck at cutting out designs.

take your time I'm not a painter but I do know that if you rush it it'll turn out worse than if you take you time...Patience is a virtue

I have to finish it Friday. I put all my paint stuff away because I was supposed to be going somewhere and now I am not going. I could have had it done tonight too. Oh well.

If you're in a hurry, just put a temp paintjob on the outside over the film, then peel it off after the race, and then do the real job on the inside
11-30-2006, 08:45 AM
Dave, that's pretty smart for a quick job...hahaha
