just draw it pretty much, i usually draw the lateral lines on the body first then the vertical ones, whichever is easier tho. I cut it all out at once and then put a little squiggle in marker on the LMF to know which ones im keeping black

See this month's XRC. They have a tutorial on how to do them with contact paper. Cut them on the shelfpaper and transfer it into the body with transfer tape. Pretty simple method and far easier to cut on a table, versus inside the body.

If you don't have contact paper handy, yeah, blue tape would do. You just are limited on width of the design.

ahh but dave there is a way around that Marty Korn used to do the tutorials for RC car and his trick was layout 3-4 strips of blue painters tape overlapping a tad on a sheet of wax paper cut ur design and peal the paper and its all systems go

Wonderliner fine liner. I found it at Ace Hardware near the shelf paper. It comes in 12" wide by 60" long roll for $4.99.

It's about 1/2 as thick as puffy mat, so getting sharp edges should be a breeze with this stuff.

I shot it both ways, and the results are very similar...subtle differences. Not gonna replace puffy matting, especially for the Ghost CF look...but this stuff will have it's uses.
