Hpi Mt2 18ss
#1
Anyone hear anything good or bad about this truck? I have been thinking of picking up an MT2 for a while but now that the 18SS is out I was thinking about buying it instead.

Any input would be appreciated.

I haven't heard anything about that specific truck, but I believe alot of the RC magazines love the MT2. Not sure what was changed in the 18SS. I was planning on looking up some info on it, as it's going to get put up on the homepage tommorrow.

I think the main change is from a .15 to a .18 engine.

The MT2 is supposed to be a good bashing truck, but if you plan to race, there is no class for a 4-wheel drive Stadium Truck.

No the 18SS does not come with any radio equipment or servos. The servos dont really matter as they are usually one of the first things changed anyways.

From what I've read on the HPI site it looks like they have beefed this version up quite a bit from the standard MT2. Heres the HPI page on the MT2 18SS

I looked at this kit and the 18ss car. Probably the best thing about them, aside from the larger engine (the old kits had the .12ss motor), was the upgraded gears and outdrive cups on the diffs. My RS4's had the old standard duty parts and they get worn out very quickly. The 18ss version should last longer.

I know mr tune has a storm buggy so after you take the parts you need for the HC Mutant you may be able to get rid of the rest of the parts to him?
