The Hill-BMX
#1
Went to the bmx track yesterday... apparently Thursday during the day no-one goes there. No BMX'rs or anything for 4 hours. I beat the snot out of my revo and my mammoth. I burned up over half a gallon.

The revo came out relativly unscathed.

The mammoth suffered a bent tower and banged up body. Also have a weird thing when it shifts into second. Sometimes it engages, other times it goes WOT and none of the power makes it to the ground.

Anyway, just checking to see if anyone else ever goes there. It seems to be more condusive to the long chassis vehicles. The revo did ok, but the mammoth did a lot better.

No pics or vids since I was all alone. But I did have fun.

If your race buggy can't survive bashing on a BMX track I'm not sure I'd want to see it on a RC track.

I'd have no hesitation to get big air at a BMX track. If I'm landing on dirt/grass I have no fear. I only really worry about making huge landings on concrete. Parts break, we fix them and go out and break them again. Big Grin Confusedmash:

If someone says BMX track I'm like WHERE?!?!? Pavement pounding with my 1/8th scale buggies is boring. And wears down on tires very quickly. I have a set specifically meant for bashing around on pavement/grass.

The landing areas are almost like concrete... Have you been to "The Hill"? It's close to 31 and I90 which is about 40 miles from me... I was taking a chance on no-one being there and got lucky.

Yeah, it seems a while back someone posted about their "NO RC" policy and that they would have you escorted off by the sheriff.
got paint?

That may be true, but I'll leave under my own steam if anyone asks me too.

ALthough, it isn't like I'm running moto-cross. After 4 hours of serious bashing, you would have been hard pressed to be able to tell I was even there. It's so hard packed that there aren't really many tracks left.

I have more fun at the skate parks by me. I got this one where we jump up a ramp and go over the 12 foot fence to the outside. Kinda scared to do it with my new stampede but my indestructable losi jrxt has done it 3 times lol. one time we had to hit 15-16 feet in the air. hit the 5" ramp at about 30 and landed it yea

I have a skatepark by me, but it's pretty small. It's fun for about an hour, then I start doing stupid stuff and always break something.

Obvoisly youve never been there. The dirt is as unforgiving as concrete and the jumps many times the size of any rc track ive ever seen. my truck is light and has plastic parts. my buggy is heavy and has alot of alumiunum. If you want your chassis and most your parts bent and damaged on something you spend alot of time fine tuning with the setup be my guest.
