Removing Paint
#1
A couple of days ago, a guy I knew gave me a few bodies from his old Stampede. The only problem is that he painted them himself, and it did not turn out too good. The bodies themselves are in perfect condition though. Is there any way that I can get the old paint off and then repaint it myself?

That might help.

I want to say Ponch knows something, but I couldn't find that thread.

Yeah, ponch has done it. I'm sure he'll chime in sooner or later and tell you what he use to remove the paint.

Yep, that and alot of paper towels. Go to Ace hardware, they should have it. That's where I got mine.

You need aircraft paint stripper! Gaurenteed to rip the paint right off there.

But beware, it'll probably disolve the lexan too. Big Grin Confusedmash: :joy:

j/k, don't use the aircraft stripper, though it might make for an amusing video.

I wonder why? Squirt a decent amount onto a fresh paper towel and kinda swirl it until the paper towel is coated in color and then go to a clean spot and but more oops on it and repeat. Should work, mabye it only works for some types of paints though? idk

I was doing just that and a little was coming off, but at the rate it's going it's going to take about 10 years. I really don't know what kind of paint is on here. I think i'm just gonna buy another one.
