whew long weekend with no sleep, i was in the D in truggy and D in buggy wiht sonny o aaron pucci cory and some other fast guys, track was tough it was fun to see all the pros again. taylor james laid it down in truggy with josh wheeler in second, I forget who won buggy i was so busy with brian trying to pit saxton and maifield boy was that f'ed up missed out on watchin any of the race.
mitchell did great this weekend won the B main finishing the last 7 minutes with 2 wd only! Dimo had some motor issues in the A unfortunately no AE buggy, but this is the last race for the big TTR drivers with the TTR car they will be running the prototype AE buggy from here on out, there should be someone running it at CRCRC in January, it will be available by february. man rocco all that blowin all weekend paid off, i brought home a new toy

K2 never broke at the track...Just the one cvd and some glow plugs during races. And the motors were both used, both not my fault.

Way to go Mike, see blowin does pay off. We just need Rocco to understand it...
I had a great time, Qual'd in the F Expert truggy and bumped to the E, and finished middle of the pack somewhere I think. Buggy I qualified in the C main, but the track continued to kiss my a$$ all weekend and tore a front shock off so I pulled it in just about half way in or so I think. Once again, racing was fun but hangin in the pits is always great, man its always a laugh a minute there. Many thanks to all that helped me over the weekend, John B, Rocco, Rich, Mike Czech, Dimo, Gabe, Mich, Brian and every body else. Oh yes the highlight was having a beer and talking about embalming and RC with Jammin J and Chad B at the station... By the way sorry about the smells on Thursday....LOL

Damn, our "fast guys" got beat up bad by the "westcoast guys". So be it. What do we need to do to help these guys bump up their game? I'll never be at that level but I still wanna root for the Home Team....

I'd like to think that I do indeed understand. But if you think I'm missing something maybe you can explain it to me...
Aren't some of our local guys "pro racers"? You, in fact, list the following "sponsors": Werks racing Proline tires Panther Motorsports Design Team Helotes Al's Hobby Shop, Elmhurst What's the difference? Help me understand please....
11-12-2006, 01:40 AM
im a sponsored driver, a rep at best, im not a factory team driver. I PAY for every damn thing on my car and that i use, those guys are given everything for free. There trips are free and paid for, some are given a salary. the only guy around here with that is gosch and lutz but he moved to cali. Those guys race offroad outdoor all year long and goto huge national events every weekend. They dont have jobs, their job is RC, they goto the track 4-5 days a week and test and tune and drive and work on setups. Most have 3-4-5 buggies truggies to practice with and try shit on. All their shti for big races is new, motors, cars, tires. guys are throwing out 1 run tires, and we are digging them outta the garbage cuz they are good enough for us. Some of the guys at this race went to the 1/8th scale IFMAR world championships. Racing is there life. they really dont care what happens to their shit after they run it, I watched Richard saxton hand his freshly rebuilt buggy to some kid at the track today, he told him take out my motor and servos and the rest is urs. You know why he can do that? Cuz he can go home and have another new kit at his door the next day. Those top pros get the newest best stuff before we even hear about it, they are constantly testing tuning and prototyping so that their shit runs the best. If our midwest guys didnt have to run indoor all year round we could put up a better showing. These guys come up with the setups we run. Its like trying to say why cant little johnny that goes to U of I play basketball as good as Michael Jordan

What's the difference between running indoor vs. outdoor? Didn't the Cally guys just run indoor and hand all the local indoor guys their lunch? And BTW, aren't several of these guys full time college students?
Why aren't the Chicago guys getting these full ride deals? I think it's partially because the magazines are in CA.
11-12-2006, 02:06 AM
IMO it seems Cali is the favored state in this hobby.

this wanst an indoor a track, some of the guys are college students but dont goto class. they are better drivers and thats why they get those deals.

WOW WOW WOW nothing more to say about this weekened but that. Great time was had way to much money was spent on my behalf but great time with a great group of guys. Hey mike I thought I saw some white stuff on your lips as I passed you HAHAHA but thats cool man just dont go and tear all this stuff apart like the this weekened huh :p:
Got to hang out with some of the cali guys, Drake is a really cool guy when you get him out and get a couple drinks in people thats all I can remember about that. But to me it was a great showing for all the CHITOWN guys that track was rough and it was just getting more blown out as the weekened went on so over all I'm proud of all the guys.
