Yeah, it looks pretty nice, I did notice that they don't come with XS3's anymore, I don't know if all of the Losi vehicles did but this one comes with the XR2i.
I had a chance to look at one in Al's the other day, it seems REALLY heavy compared to my Jammin CRT. I don't know about the plastic shock towers its kind of a funky setup, I don't see how it would compare with the current crop of competetive truggies.

My Jammin CRT is about 9.5lbs Thats a big difference in weight there. Nearly 20% heavier, or almost 2lbs.
That Losi 8 truggy looks sweet as hell. But I'm not spending hte money on one, got a Jammin X1 FTE and CRT RTR w/upgrades so I"m good for a while as I mostly bash.
I say he should get a proven truggy then, used or new. Personally with the exception of engines I'm not really weary of buying a used RC. Most times it all works out as cheaper and you can spend money on upgrades where you like.
I seen it at the I-hobby show over the weekend, i'll stick with my Revo, but the big to do at the Losi booth was the Eight-T, that truggy lookz sweet if you can afford 679.99 for the roller
