i live in the basement which is awesome cuz im seperated from my family. lol. but sucks because when it rains like this my room just gets soaked, i got a lovesac that gets raped by water and lately hasnt been dry for more than 2 days in a row with all this rain, and i came down here tonight to find the sub of my sony surround sound that i paid 200 bucks for sitting in an inch of water. idk how many people can relate to this storm tonight, prolly t to the maxx and others around here, and everyone farther to the west seemed to have lucked out a bit, because the storm really just blew up right near the lake. which sucks. but i find this really funny because my sister is in her freshman year at cornell and she wants to major in meteorology, and since she left weve had hail 2-3 times and just storm after storm, a few tornado warnings/watches. (a bunch of warnings and only one watch) and we never had any when she was here. maybe cuz shes coming home this weekend we'll have good weather.
just wanted to know how many people think it sucks that were getting more rain now than we had in the spring.

its raining like a bitch. I cant even see down my street. Tons of gusty wind, just whipping that rain south. And every 5 seconds a flash of lightning that blinds you if its in the direction your looking. Its nice to finally see a nice little rain storm here. Usually it down pours for 10 minutes and thats it for a month.

The hail just stopped here, it was crazy, on the way home from school today the streets were flodded all over, trees were down all over, we saw three trees on powerlines. Ever since I have been home from school the fire pager has been going off every 30 minutes for a storm warning or lines down, house hit by lightning or an accident.

Hail? What hail? Damn! Nearly golf ball size! Easily as big as a striker marble. Hope it didn't dent my cars up too much.
For a while there the parking lot was transformed into a River. I thought someone re-routed the mississippi!

Looks like I spoke too soon. A couple storms just rolled through here. I actually snapped a cool picture or two of the lightning with my camera. I'll upload those tomorrow. I would have had more but I didn't even think to pull the camera out until the storm had almost passed. Pretty cool though.

We lost the cable/internet at 8pm. It rain so hard yesterday! One car stalled out in front of our house because the road was flooded, so my brother and I were out there help push it through the river that is our street at 11:30 last night, lol. I went to bed at 1am and woke up this morning to a flooded basesment (my room is in the basement) .
Lot of cleaning up today

Yep
Just about everyone around us is flooded. We have never been flooded with one of those. Knock on wood.
It's supposed to be worse tonight.

So I'm hearing. Which doesn't make me a happy camper! The roof over my head at work sprung a leak. Not only that the roof gave way in several places and water worked its way into the CRT and LCD monitors! Thats BAD!!!!
We are looking at upwards of 7,000 to $10,000 in damage at this point in equipment alone. The landlord has repeatedly said there wasn't a problem, or that the leak was "minor" well, when he gets this one I'm for sure sneaking in an order for a 30" apple cinema display at work. J/K but I'm sure I can get myself a 20" cinema display ordered. Personally I'll take the macbook pro they've been talking about instead but hey.

Well you think you have it bad. The small town of Andres lost their grain bins! It is a small town of like 40 on RT.45 just north of Joliet rd out side peotone. I saw just a little bit of it this morning in the dark. But on the way home tonight. Well lets just say that of the 6 bins they had. 2 are laid flat on the ground and one is ripped up and hanging all over the ones that are still standing.
Also alot of trees all over the place. One house had the tree in their front yard ripped right out of the ground. Stuff was tossed out into the fields 500+ yards south of town. And the corn looks like it has already been harvested. Although it hasnt yet. The stalks are bent in half and are on the ground.
Either some sick winds came and hit that town,or they might want to admit a small, quick tornado touched down.
