Looking for opinions/thoughts on the robinson double disk slipper steel spur gear. I was thinking about getting one for both of my t maxx's. Just wondering if it was worth it or if anyone has used one before. I

Any suggestions? is there an inbetween of the cheap traxxas plastic spur and a metal? The problem im having is since i put the 3.3 in iv been going through spurs about once a month. Im constantly adjusting to compensate for wear but it soon gets to the point that it just wont hold and i have to go throw a new spur on.The thing i noticed about Traxxas spur gears is that they all are warped. You could pull a new one out of the package put it on and when you spin it , it wabbles, kinda like the rims on your bike when a fat kid just got done trying ramp with it!

it's not the spurs that are warped, it's the slipper assembly and how the spur rests on it.
Good chassis braces help with chassis flex (if you still have plastic?) and you will strip less spurs.

Yeah thats a good point. I didnt think about the chassis flex. especially since its the .15 chassis. Ill have to try better chassis braces or a stiffer chassis.

After I upgraded the chassis and braces on my maxx my spur gears lasted gallons and gallons. Especially if you get the Dace predator chassis/braces.
I even had a .15 stock chassis with the UE chassis braces and that thing was stiff as hell. I had really good luck with it, even racing

the braces are actually UE hence the dUEce chassis kit. Dace chassis, UE braces.
either way they are the best money can buy.

For a t-maxx. UE or Dace is the way to go if you want drivable bling.
