23mm Rims & Bowties for Savage (SOLD)
#1
Brand new white 23mm Proline velocity rims, 40 series bowties and 23 mm hex nuts for a Savage. Tires are mounted and partially glued to rims. I paid $145.00 from Al's 1 week ago and again have not been used. $120.00 gets everything.
#2
Define partially glued. I'm interested, but I have some trinity triple foams I would use. It's not glued enough to tear up the tire is it?
#3
I just looked at them and they seem like the tire can be taken off the rim with pretty minimal amount of effort. Let me say if I ran these tires in a race condition, they would probably come unglued by themself. LOL
#4
Just a quick note about glued tires: I've seen Rocco "bake" the tires in the oven to get the fully glued tires off the rims. I'll ask him how long and at what temp he sets them at. It does work, I've seen it but it really stinks up a house!

I boil them in a pot for about 5-8 mins and the tire pulls right off. It doesn't fall off but it's easily pulled off.

the oven method works really well. I have done it a couple times and each time the tire just popped off the rim like it wasnt even glued. You have to set the oven to 450 and let it heat up. Once its heated up, turn the oven off and stick the tires you want unglued in the oven for 45 minutes. Then let them cool for 10 minutes and the tires will just fall off the rim. But REMEMBER TO TURN THE OVEN OFF AND ONLY HAVE IT SET TO 450 MAX.
#7
I'll take them for $120. Just let me know when and where to meet.

Mr. Tune, I live in Franklin Park near O'hare and I see your in Westchester. Our best bet would be to meet somewhere on Mannheim either tonight between 5- 6pm or Friday night around 8pm. I have a 2 year old daughter so time during the week is very limited since she is usually in bed at 7pm. My wife has been doing an internship during the week (evening) so I'm pretty much stuck at home at night. Let me know if you have any other ideas or times we can meet up. You could stop by the house if you really want them badly for this coming weekend, but I don't expect you to have to do all the driving....Scott.

Friday at 8pm sounds great to me. Give me time to hit up the bank first for some cash (it's payday Smile). Pick a spot on mannhiem and I'll be there at 8pm tommorrow with the cash.
#10
How about Mannheim and Roosevelt? I think there is a Walgreens on the corner and we could meet there at 8pm if that works for you. If you have a different spot just let me know.
#11
If you wanna come down that far it's fine by me. The walgreens you speak of is 3 blocks from my house.
#12
Walgreen's it is. I'll be driving either a black F150 x cab of my wifes Corolla with #3 Dale Earnhardt stickers in the 1/4 glass. I'll PM you my cell number. Scott
#13
Excellent. Keep a look out for a green trailblazer, that will be me.
#14

You can joke about it, but there are people out there that would jump at the chance to take an easy $120 off an unsuspecting citizen. Maybe you might want to make your exchange at the local Police Department or Fire Station parking lot. Even the boldest criminal doesn't want to be there.

You don't know everyone who reads your posts!

Sorry guys, I'm no cop. I was just playing into all of the mugging statements against Mr. Tune and myself. I figured once I said that I was a Police officer we wouldn't be getting any more razzing. It's all in good fun. Thanks again for buying the rims and tires Mr. Tune, it was nice meeting you.
