I still run stock brake pads without problems. Everything stock. I finally broke my first part after 6 monthes. A little pin that goes threw the outdrives on my rear diff. Great truck.
For all those thinking of getting the Losi8t, please please buy it, especially if your racing and faster than most.

Was the 8ight product lines r&d rushed? I personally dont know, but it seems they are having minor issues that you would think could have been corrected in the field prior to being released.Team Losi is not what they used to be, they still make good race car I'm sure, but Gil Losi does not pour the r&d into the cars/trucks like he used to, thats obvious, they are designed, boxed, and shipped as pre-built, I mean there top of the line 1/8 scale off road nitro vehicles are not offered as kits? wow!!!!.......they never were like that back in the day, only kits offered, and they were tough, especially for 10th scale, I built a Jr2, and Jrx pro and kinwald xxcr, and they rocked hardcore. Has Losi went downhill? I dont know, Just my .02 from what I have gathered since getting back in the loop............MugeN FTW!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Like I said, if I had to choose, right now my vote would go to the Mugen. I am trying to be impartial as possible but the fit and quality that I have heard everyone talking about with the Mugen is just not heard about with the Losi Truggy. The only people I hear really raving about the new Losi are those who switched from CRT's or LSP's, or other heavier truggies. I haven't heard much from anyone who has run the Mugen and the 8T.

If you need a truck that's easier to drive (if that makes you faster) then get a Mugen.
If you want a truck that can go even faster IF you can drive pretty well, get a Losi
(By no means am I saying that everyone with a Mugen can't drive, that would be a ludicris statement)
Both trucks/buggies are built well from what I've seen with my own eyes. Also it was mentioned that "top of the line Losi's don't come as kits"......I built my 8-B piece by piece, it was definitely a kit.
Losi has not slouched on R&D either, they have guys like Adam Drake that are on top of all that and coming up with new concepts all the time. Look at how inovative their buggy is comparred to all the other cookie cutter buggies out there (including the new Mugen). I like Mugen but the 5R still kinda looks "tankish" out on the track. It is a FAST buggy though, just doesn't look fast (unless Cory is driving)..
MOOOOOOOO..ve over the 8ights are coming..............(quote)
