Is that what you're saying? Can the cops press charges if he doesn't have the items he scammed? I week away seems to me like a long time for the police to "go on vacation" while the guy gets his stuff in order before they come back.

yeah in his emails he said he ruined the bulkheads already, well he said there dinged up, so I'm sure the stuff is half trashed, but a couple dings ain't much to me, maybe I can't resell them, but at least I'll have the satisfaction of knowing that they are back

I sent Tex a message but I figure I'll post this here too.

I'm majoring in Telecommunications and there are a few things you can do on forums like this.

One of them is banning of IP addresses. Also, if a user is causing enough problems its possible to actually call the ISP and have that IP banned from visiting this site, and if the use violates his TOS agreement they can actually drop his service all together forcing him to use another provider.

Also, another tid bit of info. Your ISP knows your IP address, and if the IP addresses match from all of the posts he's made on various forums scamming people it can actually be used as evidence by the police.

So in the end, if you have people willing to help you, its possible to nail this guy to the wall. We've got his address and phone number, and should the address and phone number match the ISP's record of who is leasing the IP recorded in the posts here and elsewhere its the smoking gun we'd need to get the police involved.

I believe that anything over $100 is a felony.

The way he described it (maxx-breaker) on another forum it sounds like the Princeton investigator basically knocked on his door and told him that he needs to make things right or they can lock him up. Hopefully that means that we will get our money back.

I give him credit for wising up. His buyer-seller cred was shot anyway, so why not try to gain back some cred with a little honesty and remorse?
