Just though id start a thread about personal transponders and there rapidly increasing cost!!! I remember at the start of winter bernie had the for $75. Now, go on ebay they're are some going for 95 bucks with two days left to go!!!!
I guess im so pissed because amb basically has a monopoly on these suckers and will all have to just keep payin to play. Its just one thing less to worry about in that three minutes you have between races, and ya wont ever have to yell " HEY!!! Who's got #6!!?!?!?!!?!!" Or have to worry about the transponder going dead in the middle of your main.
I guess im just bummed i gotta buy two of these babies,(wish i woulda bought them this winter) Thanks for listening to my pissed off rant

rocco,
i would have to agree with you. they are overpriced but like you say, what are we going to do. put up with the ones you get from the track or buy the personal ones. i wish i would have bought mine last winter also.

Seriously, Mr Tune, add me on the list as "possible" for a purchase. Right now the sons and I don't do any racing (we might soon !) so getting the AMB is a low priority.
I did just run a quick check on completed items on eBay and the SOLD items mostly went for $80 and up, plus $6 s&h. You might want to email Mr. Fried and find out if there is a long wait on getting an order filled directly from AMB.

Like Rocco said "....because amb basically has a monopoly on these suckers and will all have to just keep payin to play."
I am still just in the playing mode, and having just dropped $$$.$$ on the Revo, and it still is stock, it has other needs to be race-ready, and we will need more time to spare to get on tracks for practice before we even get INTO racing, let alone serious about racing.
The video of the last races at LH (4/9) looked very cool and racing is definately more fun than running around in the weeds! Do you guys get outdoors to race during the summer? I saw that LH is planning an outdoor track....I would prefer outdoors to indoors (less fumes!)
