So back on topic for a second here, Dan Mike what do you think a "gaming system" is? Oh thats right a computer!! It just serves one purpose, GAMES!

As for "blu-ray" discs having more memory than a DVD, wrap your head around this. I just bought a new computer game that took 6(six) discs to play! Thats probably 4 times more than a blu-ray could ever hold!!! Which makes the graffics a hell of alot better! 3 gigs of graffics is a lot more than could ever be done on a ps3 or 360! As for a computer not being as good as the ps3 or a 360 , my laptop plays very memory and graffics intensive script files for work that would give either the ps3 or the 360 a heart attack!

I went to best buy yesterday-2pm. I got told there would be a line at 11, so I sat down and played guitar hero untill 10, then got staked out for a spot in line. I had the closest parking spot, so I put the top down on my car, stood on my seat, and was ready to jump out and run to line. The cop then made an announcement. "All people interested in PS3 need to come back tomarrow morning at 630 for a lottery. I was pissed, being that I waited 8 hours for nothing.
I went home, went to sleep, got up, went to BB, got lottery ticket number 264. (there where over 1000 people in line for 34 units).









What happened?














7 numbers where called. Then...I said to my friend if I got picked I would perform a cartw.....and in that sentence I heard....264! I ran down SCREAMING at the top of my lungs...I WON I WON I GOT THE GOLDEN TICKET WOOT WOOT WOOT and proceeded to get my 60gb ps3.

After that, I went to toys r us, and picked up my 60gb from there

I have one. That lottery thing is BS. First come, first serve. LoL People were at the Champaign one since Monday. We went Wednesday to the one about an hour from here. We were 4th, 5th, and 6th in line. It was cold, and a little wet, but I had my nice tent and good sleeping bag so I was set. the best buy taht we were at got 20 premium and 6 20 gb. Mine is on e-bay right now. We had a few people offer us 2,000 in line so I hope I didn't get too greedy. If I did, live and learn. It was a really good time though.

The Musical Chairs Stampede in Milwaukee was the funniest thing I have seen on TV in along time! That store manager is going to lose his job over that decision. It's too bad people actually got hurt over a game system.

The lottery system was a little safer, ya think?!

Its a shame that our economy and lifestyles have come to this. It really screws the kid that just wants to have a gameing system. No way would I ever pay 4 or 5 times as much just to have a game. While I understand why people do it, I don't agree with it. If someone was camping out for them selves to keep it that fine, but to try and make a profit just sucks for the little guy.

I wonder how many people will go into debt because of charging 3g on a credit card so they can have a game system. That most probably don't have a HD tv so they wont notice a real big difference anyways.

Just like when I got a tickle me elmo TNX, I am like hell no I opened it up and let me daughter enjoy it. The joy i get form her laughing at it is worth more than the extra 60 or so bucks I can get from it on ebay.

I know the psp is in a different price range but the main point is still there.

I feel guilty doing it, but I could really use some spending money in college right now. I don't like people likt the guy behind me locking up 22 systems from several locations by paying people to stand there....

I'm sorry,I want a PS3 just as much as the next guy. But for those who are paying more then $100 over the tag price. They really need to rethink their life,or get one. That is just nuts paying 8k,9k,10k+ for a gaming system!

And for the ones selling it. Yea,I can understand you want to make a quick,easy buck. And if you sell it cheap,someone will buy it and sell it higher. All that BS,but that is sad for people that have stood in line to get one. That want to get one so they can PLAY on the system,not sell it. But they didnt get one. And now they have to watch people jack up the price higher then a decent used car or something.

I shall wait a month or so. Then walk into the store and buy one for the retail price and laugh at those who bought one at 5x+ the price.

People pay 4x or more over retail because something like this won't be easily available for probably 4-6 months and money grows on trees for them.

I remember when I picked up the 360, I was lucky enought to nab one up on opening day last november. It wasn't until march or april when I saw the 360 readily available at all the best buys and circuit cities out there.

Same thing will happen with the PS3.

Wrap your head around this.... Blu Ray disks can hold 50 gigs of data. I doubt your 6 disks can do that. I also doubt the load time is as good. Look at it this way.... where your computer is meant to game and do other things, this system is meant JUST FOR GAMING. It has a 9 core processor that will smoke anything in any of our computers right now. Enjoy your computer, but it will not compete with a PS3 right now.
