if you wanted to go a little crazy with it, get a t4 with a brushless setup in it, plenty of run time, and the truck would just fly

associated T4 with brushless gets my vote.

why stop there...go to a 6t or somethin but if you want quality buy one of the $50 motors not the cheap trinity ones cause they dont last my .02

Why not 6t? Cause you get longer run times with a 12t in theory, and I think a 12t would be plenty...

I say 1/8th scale buggy LiPo/Brushless conversion! Big Grin J/K that doesn't fall into the realm of cheap at all, but man after seeing one done I realised i can have all of my durability, and toughness, and with the LiPo/BL setup run for 30minutes or more on a charge.

I had a Losi XXX-T and I liked it alot, I originally had a 19T Komodo dragon 2 and a LRP runner ESC using a 3300mah venom pack and it was great fun, with about 20 to 25 minutes run time. Probably mid 20's, maybe high 20's with the right gearing.

I later put a Novak 5.5R bl in it and it was WAY faster.

The trinity speed gem motors are ok and do last awhile, I've had many in my time.
For $30 they are great!

As far as a "good" motor being $50, think again. a good motor is way more than $50
