Motorcycle guys/gals
#1
Some of you may or may not know that ive been employed at a high line used auto dealer in Bensenville (Bensenvillemotors.com)that is being bought out by the airport expansion. We already had a new dealership set up in Carolstream for the cars to move to (Autoshowcase1.com) but service was up in the air till now. The building they purchased was too big for service alone so they needed another gig to keep the money flowing and help pay for this big building. Thats where my excitement comes in. Starting at the first of the year, Suzuki of Carolstream will be kicking off and Id like to invite all you bike guys/gals to give me a call, PM , E-mail whatever to let me beat your best prices on Suzuki Bikes, Quads or bike accessories. I myself will be running the service dept and help in stocking what I think sells till this thing gets going, but will have some say in bike sales. Were a close group of guys there and want to make this work. Id rather work on a bike than a car anyday. Cool Word is, when we open we will beat any price on Suzuki, and hope people will keep coming back for the great service. Wink
Question, comments welcome...Who wants a new bike for 2007???

For sure...let us get the doors open first tho. Rep ordered us the whole line for our first order and many GSX-R's. I did hear 16 Hayabusa's if you want the big boy.

Only if it's stretched and turboed will I sign my death wish and hop on a Busa. I think a 750 would be more than enough for me. (And I would really need to execute self control as it would be my first bike). I almost bought one about a year ago when my neighbor was hit on his and the parents decided I couldn't get one.

Are you guys going to be selling used bikes and such also??

Congrats Kevin....so does that mean you dont have to get dirty wrenching as often now?
So are you becoming a Suzuki dealer, or is a dealer joining you guys, I didnt quite get that...lol
So do you guys have to get certified to wrench on Suzuki's now?

Ive been thinking about getting a new bike or quad next spring....I grew up riding, started when I was 5 on a Suzuki JR50 Smile
I havent really ridden dirt since I sold my KX 125 back in 94', when I moved out of my parents house.
Id like to get back into it soon though, before I get too old Big Grin

I agree...Id hate to be giving George more buisness than he alrewady has Sad ...Please be carefull and know how to drive what you buy. I will be buying a SV650 as I dont think the RACE bikes are needed unless racing.
And yes , used bikes will happen. Im sure that inventory will grow as trades are taken in. My 3 will be the first used for sale.lol

Thanks, I hardly wrench that much now as it is compared to a book time tech, but i do and still will when needed.
We are becoming a Suzuki dealer. A Suzuki dealer nearby is closing shop and Suzuki reps liked our location and the looks of the building and more, so we got the ticket.
And as far a being certified, No you dont have to be. Heck, they dont even require you to run a service center with your sales, but we are. With the tech support from the manufacture and thier tools it wont be a problem. I hope...Im sure a bike guy will be hired and I know my way around them OK.
And your never too old to ride a bike. Riding in the dirt has been a big part of my weekends for around 15 years untill I found out about these rc's. I was pretty deep into racing and started getting discouraged about my results and my psycal ability. I got down on myself and it wasnt fun anymore not to mention the $$$. Rc's have filled the racing void and I dont have to worry about being to fat or getting hurt. Anyway, now I just like going to the practice tracks once in a while with my daughter and taking it easy. Still end up racing someone around the track tho  Oh and wait to you feel how these new thumpers run...OMG A 250four stroke will make that kx125 feel like a 80

I will. I think I may post some pics of the construction as it goes up. Something tell me I may be working there a long time unless O'Hare gets really big. Rolleyes

Freeride a little advice. Take a Basic riders course first before you buy anything.Period. If this is your first bike, a 750 will kill you even with all the best gear. Putting a new rider on a 150+ Horsepower bike that weighs in at 360 pounds dry is gonna get you into trouble fast. Start with something small 500cc or less, learn to ride then move up as your skill level increases. Selling 200+HP sportbikes to newriders with one year or less riding experience should be illegal.

No kidding! In europe they have a levels where a new rider cant ride anything over 200cc's for their first year. My 1974 Yamaha RD350 only produces 39HP but it is fast as hell. Fast enough for me, but I'm a vintage guy so...

Absolutely. I have ridden bikes though and am fairly confident. (Not by any means saying a gsxr 750 is a great choice) I have ridden smaller cc bikes as well as my buddy's kawasaki something or another that is slightly faster than a 600 gsxr. Just need to control that throttle.

I agree with you Poprc. Ive always rode in the dirt on 250cc and wish people would learn thier baics there. Ive crashed a lot over the years and a sprained ankle was all Ive ever ended up with. People do get seriously hurt in the dirt also, I just think the chances are less and thats just my opinion. Concrete is much harder, the speeds are much faster, and then you have to throw in all the other drivers on the road you need to watch out for. Learning in the dirt just seems a little safer...
Bottem line is people are going to buy what they want, Id pray that they buy something that meets thier riding ability. Make smart choices and dont go goofing off. Your Life depends on it...
