it does not seem to open the gas all the way.

That's why you adjust the endpoints. The endpoints adjust how far the servo will turn.

I've got my endpoints set perfect on my DX3 system.

First, take the throttle and steering arms off the servo's.

Then, set all of your trim at 0, and your endpoint at 100 on the DX3.

Turn on the tx, and rx. The servo's should center themselves. Make sure that the servo's are set to the proper direction.

Now, eyeball it and center your steering and throttle arms as best you can.

Once that is done, adjust the end points so it doesn't bind, or try and pull the throttle slide out of the carb. Your throttle servo should stop pulling on the slide exactly, as the slide reaches maximum travel (full throttle).

Its not very hard, though it can be confusing if you've never had a radio that has those functions. Read through the DX3 manual, it has all of this information in the manual.

Once you get the basics done, you can go outside, start it up, and then adjust your subtrim, steering throw, and throttle/brake travel so you aren't overheating the servo's by overdriving them or binding the steering/throttle/brake linkage.

Trim - This is where the servo centers itself. What you want to do is make sure that your radio's Trim is set to 0. When Trim is at 0, the servo is at dead center. Having positive or negative trim allows us to center the steering or throttle because when we set it up we are not 100% accurate on getting the steering straight, or the throttle setup exactly right. Trim adjusts us for that.

End Point Adjustment (EPA) - EPA is a setting that controls how far the servo will travel in a diraction. The DX3 supports seperate endpoints for both positive and negative servo travel (IE: Left and right for steering, or throttle and brake). So lets say the throttle slide is fully open at 70% of throttle travel, adjust your throttle EPA to 70% and it won't put undue stress on the servo, or the throttle slide/carb. This will make sure both the servo and the batteries last longer, and that the throttle slide doesn't get worn or even pulled right out of the slide bore.

There are a crap load of other options that the DX3 has, and other radios like the 3pk, M8, and M11 have even more.
