Mr. Tune Wrote:I saw that in the news. The section he was driving on was a 55 zone. Caught doing 142, lol.
mikey, a stock VW may not got 142, but it won't take much work to get a VW to get that kind of speed.
Stock it is limited at 130. With a chip and intake I have not hit the top speed yet. I honestly think my top speed right now is limited by my gear ratio, not power at hand. More power would let me get there faster, but not necessarily go any faster in the end. I only plan on doing a turbo inlet pipe, exhause, and maybe an upgraded intercooler and stage II chip. After that my trans will go kaboom. (I know..... I wish it were a manual too. Any car from now on will be....)

I remember years back about a guy on LSD(lake shore drive) on his rocket flyin down doin like 150 or something. The cop said he didnt even see him, just heard the bike fly by and the radar light up with the number. He said by the time he got on the road. The bike was gone.
The fool still pulled over!!!! He had it beat by miles. But said that he saw the blue lights and pulled over. When the cop got there, the guy was off the bike, helmet was off and everything was out(ID and Ins. card) and he was WAITING for the cop...

My buddy got pulled over TWICE like that. In 2 different towns. They wanted to know how he made it from town to town so fast. LoL The cops basically thanked him for stopping and let him go, because they knew he could have easily gotten away. (Turbo Busa)

Then 18-20 year olds will be bad drivers. It is inevitable. I payed so much attention when driving with my dad when I was little that I had almost known how to react to most situations by the time I hit drivers ed. My parents were never scared to let me drive like many parents are, and I have been in no accidents that were my fault. (One bimbo rear-ended me on 290 when traffic stopped and she didn't but I wasn't at fault. Her insurance payed for everything.) If I were playing gameboy in the backseat all the years I was young I would probably be a real sketchy driver right now....

I agree 100%!!! Man I did more dangerous stuff and get into more trouble behind the wheel at ages 16-18 than I did 19-27, lol.
I should have never been given a license at age 16!

But you have a run like that. With that kind of speed. There is no way your going to get cought. I am not saying that we should all go out right now and do it. But I for one would not have stopped. By the time the cop pulls out the radio,I already have what,1-2 mile jump on him? And by the time he is done calling it in,make it a 3-4 mile jump???
And that guy was downtown too. So yea,I highly doubt he would have gotten cought.

I think videogames hurt peoples driving....(in the car instead of paying attention to what your parents do in situations)
And I think r/c's, go karts, and golf carts help. My first drive with my parents were like "Matt you don't have to lie, you're being honest when you say you've only driven about 20 minutes without us?" And I was.

I win! GSXR1300 baby 175( I didn't have the balls to go any faster!)!!!! Also a bone stock 98 Plymoth Neon hits about 135 on the highway so I'm pretty sure Dans VW can go faster!!!

dan, being inexperience and being a retard behind the wheel are too different things.
I'd rather encounter people learning versus people who are learning, but actually think they are mario andretti.

Czech was that you that flipped your moms car looking for a CD or change or something??
And when you are doing over 100, you will almost never get caught IMO unless you pass a cop that is also driving. I was doing about 110 one night around a long sweeping curve and a cop was sitting under the bridge. I got lasered (detector went of). My friend and I both hit the gas and he never even pulled out. Stupid? Yes. Did I save my ass? Yes.

i have never been in a accident that was my fault either, nor am i saying kids shouldn't drive untill they are 18, only that they should not have their license and be able to drive by themselves with a car load of people and not paying attention to anything else around them. not saying that i shouldnt have been in any accidents just that most 16 yearolds dont think very clearly at about midnight while driving around in their car thinking they are hot chit.

That is true. My VW makes me think I am hot shit. The sound of the diverter valve is just too badass. Do I feel I have ever put someone in danger other than myself? No. I refuse to speed any more than the rest of traffic if I have anyone in my car. I don't need that hanging over me if something were to happen.
