I win! GSXR1300 baby 175( I didn't have the balls to go any faster!)!!!! Also a bone stock 98 Plymoth Neon hits about 135 on the highway so I'm pretty sure Dans VW can go faster!!!

You got me by 1 mph....only because I backed out of it at 174mph due to things flying by much faster then my liking!
The scary thing is.....I was in my modded Crossfire SRT-6 and it was still pulling hard, as if I was still doing 110mph :eek:
Man I love this car!


BTW...how do you know a Neon hits 135mph when the speedo only goes to 120mph? Not to mention it takes about 5 miles of road to get it up there LOL
I had a bone stock Neon once too....but now its heavily modded (ported & polished head w/aftermarket cam just to name some) and it still takes forever to get going 120mph

On the topic of people getting their license at 18. I think it would help a little with people not being stupid because they are older, but I also think that some of the people will still do the same stuff as they do when they are 16 because they just got their license at 18.

I have been driving since I was like 10 or 11 on my dads lap in the cemetary and by myself since i was 13 or 14. I think I am a good driver and never speed in residential areas like Dan said.

Ive owned two 1st gens now, my first one was a 96' four door auto, sold it for the one I have now,
a 96' two door 5 speed that I hopped up for the fun of it.....it does the 1/4 in 15 sec flat, hub caps and all
I love pissing off the Honda rice boys LOL
Ive never had any problems with mine at all.....I drive it about 75 miles a day and it gets 26 mpg while beating the piss out of it....32mpg if Im nice to it LOL

I also owned an SRT-4, but sold it for the SRT-6

I am happy with my VW and know where I want to go with that. I am looking to build a cheap college car though. I don't care if it is an old beat up piece of crap (I prefer it) but I would like it to be relatively quick (at least as fast as my GTI) and fairly reliable. (I can fix it if I need to but do prefer not too. LoL) I was thinking turbo kit on an old honda, or a cheap 5.0 mustang. What would you reccomend? I would like to stay around 2-3k for everything.... car included. I have no problem using a junkyard pulled turbo or whatever. Opinion? (I know it won't be pretty. LoL)

I don't think so. If I were to get a neon, an old civic hatch would work better for what I want I think..... probably cheaper, and easier to get parts/tuning for. I am curious what eric would do with 2-3k to make a budget beater play car.

Seriouly....I did buy my current Neon off of ebay for 2k and put 1k into modding it....
I got lucky though, the car was in good shape and only had 60k miles on it, all I did was have my buddy do some paint-less dent removal, buff out the paint and it looks like a new car

How about a Dodge Shadow...Thrash has one in his garage with pretty low miles and he just told me last week he whishes it wasnt there. I think its an 01 with around 60K. Hes the original owner and Im sure you could get it pretty cheap. Id offer him a coulpe RC cars and see what he says.

Matt, the blazer would be perfect for you. I've alway wanted one. Might be a LITTLE bit better on gas than the Expedition, but not a whole lot. Does it have the 4WD or just the 2WD version?
