I am still full of rage and its been a day now since this happen so i need to figure out a way to relax
so help me out here. So the story is...I at work coming back from a servce call in cal city and in
heading north on 294 just exiting 80. I pull into the toll booth about a good 1000 feet from the gates
and patiently wait behing a semi.Im in no hurry to get back to the shop) So about 5 min go by and
im still waiting in my line and theres a line next to me to my left and empty to my right cause of a
closed booth. Well now im about 150 to 200 feet to the booth still behind the same truck i entered
the tollway with and out from my left side comes this frieghtliner about3 feet from my truck and
maybe a foot from the ass end on the trailer infront of me. So im thinking to myself " what the hell is
this guy doing?" im looking out my window up into his cab trying to see if he sees me. Well the line
moves forward a few feet and so i move forward and so does the idiot driving the semi next to me.
Now hes like 2 feet from my truck but now the front bumper isback behind my drivers door. So now
im thinking well hes going to merge in behind me and dint pay anymore attention to it. Traffic moves
again. I move 10 feet more. Next the ass end of my truck is being rocked. I look out my mirror and
the corner of the semi is up againt the bed of my truck just infront of the rear tire. So i get out
Yelling and mother fing him up and down just about climbing on his truck and the jacka** has the
balls to say i came out of nowhere and cut him off.Yet hes over the line in my lane! Im just so
pissed off! and the state tropped finally shows up asked for our info hands up a form to fill out and
send in and takes off. No asking of stories or anything! And out of all those people NOBODY could
stop and say what they saw?! I work for a trucking company so im around truckers all day. They
have a job that a monkey could do and they cant seem to figure out how to do it! Dont get me
wrong there are alot of great drivers out there. And im always the one to slow down let a driver
merge into another lane when crusing down the highway cause i know how it is to have to drive a
semi. But its like companys nowdays are hireing COMPLETE IDIOTS! And im ashamed to say buy my
company is just as guilty hireing an idiot whos last job was pizza hut! (he lasted a week before he
burt up a clutch an quite) But it like the common answer i always here is "Wasnt my fault". Last
week i had a driver Tear off a complete front fender including headlight assembly and try to hid the
damage in the yard by parking the damaged side away from the shop view. The next morning when i
saw it the repose i got was "It wasntme i dont know how it happened" and yet hes the only one to
ever drive that truck. So people tell me am i wrong to be full of rage here? i just cant seem to drop i
t. Ithink its cause of the blatent disrespect of that driver towards me that hit me. I would love for
nothing more than to take a ride out to dyer indiana and throw this guy a beating but i know even
though it would make me feel so damn good it would be wrong.
P.S. nobody was issued a ticket

damn dude that sucks. some trucking co.'s need to re think there hireing system.
just yesterday i almost got as*holed by a semi it was because i was stuck behind a truck in front and on the side so i got boxed in and aolmost got as*holed because of it
The worst dirtbiker is always one step ahead of even the best quad rider....

yeah we carry cameras in all of our trucks, semi and service, so as soon as i pulled over i took pics of the damage. My work had them developed today so ill see them tomorrow at work.

I think the problem is alot of over the road trucking firms are hiring alot of immigrants from eastern europe and poland.
Alot of these guys are just barely proficient in driving the 80,000 pound vehicle straight LET ALONE back the giant truck up too a dock!!!

Everyday i interact with atleast 5 over the road truck drivers and i have seen EVERY walk of life over the 10 years of dealing with them.... From the crazy fat southern truck driver to the incredibly scary smelly quite close talker driver to the older married couple tag team drivers...
I only said what i said because i have seen a serious increase in people from these areas of the world in the last 2 to 4 years...
And i have alot of respect for the job... My father has been a local semi truck driver for 25 years. Teamster man.
Truckers get a bad rap for being low life drug addicts but many are good people just looking to make a living. They deal with horrible work conditions... Constantly increase traffic, road construction weather,, road rage, the loss of common curtosey and peoples ability to drive a car...
... And they spend hours in solitary confinment...
Without truck drivers you would be starving freezing and naked ...

My grandfather busted his ass on the docks for Roadway when they came over here from Germany/Poland.
I respect them all. I am probably one of the most curtious drivers to truckers.

Well you shouldnt respect them all frosty. Atleast not the drivers. The trucks themselves should have respect because well,that truck could be 70,000+lbs and your just 2,00-3,000lbs. I drive,and I hate container drivers. They are the worst of the bunch. They drive so as hell when they have a container on. And they drive like a bat out of hell when they dont.
But its just not those countries. They are from everywhere. Alot of the drivers out there are nice and good drivers. But the ones that everyone talks about are the ones that are the dicks and drive stupid.

Im gonna say container drivers are a extremley close 2nd in my book to worst .... Only to drivers of Gravel Bombers... Any time you pay a dude buy the load your asking for trouble...

The lesson to be learned, while you were in the right, you knew he was going to do something stupid, so you should have just let him in. It would have cost you one spot in the line and nothing in the body shop. I have learned to let road idiots have their way. I find it's better to have them in front of me, than behind me.

A MBI truck(garbage hauler) did that to me a few months back up north on the tri-state as the waukegan cash box. He came out of no where and basicly forced me over so he could get into the truck Ipass lane.
He went flyin thru and just kept on going. Those trucks you have to watch for because they get paid by the load and not by the mile. So chances are they are always speeding and driving stupid.

Believe me,there are blind spots on a truck. But chances are if he was that close. The driver saw him and most likely did think that he was trying to 'cut' or whatever. There are a handfull of drivers that do know a car is there and still force the issue because well,they are bigger.

Drew +100, those MBI drivers are not all there, but most of the people that drive those trash wagons around are'nt all there and paid by the load!

The big red MBI trucks! THose guys are asses! Iv been ran off the road and seen them clip people and keep going! When i worked in Batavia me and 3 other cars where forced into oncoming traffic on farnswoth because of a MBI driver. Iv called that companys Safety director numerous times! Apparently hes a moron just like his drivers for not handleing the situation. Iv even had the company i was working for at the time (penske) call and complain about thoses asses clipping our trucks.

This was a container driver. Chances are he was heading up to the csx, mol or whatever they call it container yard in bedford park.

no i worked at batavia. We where a captive shop on the Aldi warehouse property. I worked on Aldi foods trailers and Blackhorse Carriers trucks.(They lease truck from penske) Out shop supervisor workedat our shop and west chicago. you might know him. Brad? the guy that looks like ZZ Top?

Yea,the MBI's are a joke. I guess the owner bought our dodge dealership here in peotone last year. Named it after his wife. I know I WONT be going there for my next dodge.
