ok i thought so im 5.0_ranger. if your looking to race i wouldnt bother but if your looking for high speed runs in front of your house, hell yeah got plenty of power maybe a little to much. a friend of mine has a 3.3 jato and it fcuking flies.

Im just looking to have fun at my parking lots at work and possibly around the house. Im a fan of rediculously excessive power, so this should keep me happy for a lil bit. Can i put an even bigger motor in it? Gearing options?

with the 3.3 Jato's it's hard enough to keep the front end down but I don't see why not. Maybe a os. 18tm or whetever to your likeing. Not sure about the gearing but I'm sure it can be done also

I really doubt you would need a bigger motor. I had an OS .18 in an RC10GT a while back and the 3.3 in the Jato is about the same speed if not a little faster I would say. For what you are looking to do it is a great option. Fast, reliable, and prettty durable for a 1/10. I would stock up on things like extra arms and such because a nice 40+mph cartwheel in the parking lot can still break them.

only thing it is good for is high speed straight runs And wheelies.
Pretty Durable. Put a rpm wide front bumper on it. Helps save front end parts.

Well i have a parking lot that holds nearly 2000 cars to play in when its empty (fairly often) so im not too worried about a big open place to run at. Pretty smooth too for the most part. So a high speed vehicle wouldnt be a problem for me. A car that tops out around 30-40 would be a lil boring in there.

I've had a Jato, I never really had problems with the front end, but the rear shock tower gave me problems all the time. Every time I'd jump it I'd have tgo swap it. Got to be very annoying.
And you can't really get the aluminum shock towers because the aluminum shock towers mount to the plastic rear diff/trans case. So instead of breaking a easily replaceable shock tower, you break a trans case.
If you want pure speed, the Jato is the way to go. But remember that even though its fast as hell, it still only has rear brakes and getting a ST to haul down from 60+ is a chore.

Welcome to site BBBSS!!
You want Stupid speed? 3.3 jato should do it. "Firesprink"on here has one and it f'n flies. Theres a video around here from our last Berwyn bash, I think its on it. I would stock up on drivetrain parts and hub carriers.

I have a Jato 3.3 that I keep just for parking lot fun. As far as mods go, I just modded mine with nearly every Traxxas performane accessory available, I love my Jato, I wish some more people had them around where I live at. I wanted to see some form of on-road Jato racing, like they do the asphalt quads, I thought it would be really neat. Anyway, I have just alot of fun running a figure 8 form, and oval, I like making it drift (or powerslide around the corners. Anyway that's just my take on the 3.3.

I have one also. Its a great truck and is fast as hell, but not that raceable. Its uncontrollable with the power. I've never had any big problems on mine.

Im not looking to do any real racing just have fun with an overpowered wheelie happy truck. This seems to fit my dream well lol. I have an ofna 1/8 buggy from a few years back i need to dig up again and get running again too. Same with the rc10gt. I just dont wanna get caught up in all the $ that comes with this hobby. I am already spending quite a bit of money modifying my camaro and this is just something to have fun till my car is doen kinda thing.
